May 23, 2019 - On March 9, 2019 students from Self Defense America in Center TX went and competed in the LA Govenor Games in Shreveport LA. These students come from Center, Shelbyville, Tenaha, Timpson, Joaquin and San Augustine TX, Shelby County was well repesented. Events at the Games were Forms, Specialty Forms, Point Sparring, Chanbara and Jujitsu. Each Student will be listed with the place the received. For over half of these students this was their first competition.

May 20, 2019 - Bradley Springs Cemetery homecoming is set for Saturday, May 25, 2019. In case of rain, the meeting will be at First Methodist Church, Tenaha.

May 14, 2019 - Three Joaquin athletes brought home medals from the state track and field meet over the weekend at the Mike A Myers Stadium in Austin.

May 10, 2019 - Shelbyville Dragons won their first and second game against Alto May 10, 2019 in the Baseball Area Playoffs being held in Rusk. Both games ended with a score of 2-1 and the Dragons Area Champions! The Dragons advance to the Regional Quarterfinals to play against either Gary or Cushing who play tomorrow.

May 2, 2019 - (Update): Due to bad weather, Thursday's Round 1 Roughrider Playoff Game v Rusk was rescheduled.  Weather permitting, the game will be today at 6:00. The Roughrider Broadcast Team will carry the game on Facebook Live at the Roughrider Radio Broadcast Team Facebook Page. The Ray Jones Chevrolet Pre-game is scheduled for 5:40 with the Ford Focus on player Juan Gonzalez. First pitch, 6:00. Stay tuned through the Farmers State Bank Postgame Show live from the field.
