The Center Roughriders varsity football team won Their UIL Football Bi-district round playoff over the Liberty Eylau Leopards by a 67-21 score. The Roughriders arenow 8-3 overall this season and they will next face the Aubrey Chapparals (9-2)next week in an area round playoff. Aubrey beat Lincoln High by a 63-12 score to advance.

November 10, 2022 - Shelbyville High School’s Emily Pharris, competed at the 2A State Cross Country Championship, at Old Settler’s Park in Round Rock, Texas on November 4, 2022 and brought home a gold medal.
November 7, 2022 - The Tenaha Tigers will play Deweyville in the first round of the playoffs. This game will be played Friday, November 11, 2022 at 7:00 pm in Woodville at Eagle Stadium. Kick-off is set for 7pm. Tickets will be sold at the gate for $5 for adult tickets and $3 for students.
November 7, 2022 - Shelbyville Dragons will face the Centerville Tigers for a bi-district playoff on Friday, November 11 at 7:30pm at Diboll Lumberjacks Stadium.
November 5, 2022 - Four of five of Shelby County’s varsity football teams took wins this past week. Joaquin had a bye week. This week begins the Bi-district round of the Texas UIL Football Playoffs.

Roughrider Stadium is hosting Newton versus Hughes Springs playoff game at Center High School Football Stadium on Thursday, November 10, 2022. Tickets will be sold at the gate for $6 adults and students. Kickoff time is 7pm.
November 4, 2022 - The Joaquin Rams vs Leon Cougars bi-district playoff football game will be held on Friday, November 11th at 7:00 p.m. The game will be played at the Jacksonville High School Tomato Bowl Stadium.
Admission: $5.00 across the board for school aged children and up.
Passes accepted: THSCA and District Passes. Additionally, veterans will have free admission.
November 4, 2022 - Although the Center Recreation Department signup days have passed for the 2023 Basketball season, it's not too late!
Parents are encouraged to come by City Hall at 617 Tenaha Street to sign up before November 4th. Office hours are Monday – Friday 8:30-4:30pm.
