Paul Fredrick Erwin, of Texarkana, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. Born September 6, 1923, he was the second of five children born to James Arthur and Ruby Emma Erwin of Tenaha, Texas.

Paul was a 1942 graduate of Tenaha High School and a proud member of the undefeated Tenaha Tigers football bi-district championship team his senior year. After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1943, he moved to Houston where he met his future bride while attending the University of Houston.

Paul was a master gardener who loved sharing gardening tips with friends and family.  He was a voracious reader with a near-photographic memory and could speak intelligently on just about any subject.  He was an avid sports fan who could quote player and team histories and stats like a pro.  His quick wit and mischievous sense of humor kept family and friends laughing - and sometimes groaning - and his stories were legend.
