Mr. Odell Caraway, 91 of Timpson, passed away Thursday night, April 21, 2016 at his residence in Timpson.

Funeral service will be held Thurday, April 28, 2016 at Smith Chapel Baptist Church. Wake will be Wednesday night, April 27, 2016 from 6pm until 8pm at New Prospect Baptist Church, Timpson, Texas. Interment at Smyrna Cemetery, Timpson, Texas with Rev. Rayford Caraway officiating.

Betty Jo Ramsey Harbison, 84, of Nacogdoches, Texas passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 in Nacogdoches, Texas.  She was born in Port Arthur, Texas on June 9, 1931, the daughter of Jacob Albert Ivy and Sarah Ella Powers Ivy.

Funeral services for Betty will take place on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Taylor Funeral Home, Timpson, Texas, with Chaplain Don Barron officiating.  Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Monday from 5:00-7:00 PM at Taylor Funeral Home, Timpson, Texas.

Betty grew up in the Silas community in Shelby County.   She had many varied interests. She found great joy in cooking and baking goods for her community.  Betty enjoyed gardening, and reading in her spare time.

She was born April 19, 1934 in Pecos, Texas to parents, Walter & Letha (Clements) Barlow. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Tenaha.  She enjoyed fishing and crafts. In the past she was active in the Tenaha Lions Club, Kermit Bass Club and she also enjoyed the ladies sewing group at her church.

Brenda Hughes Graham, 70 of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Nacogdoches Medical Center.

After attending Galena Park High School, Brenda was a homemaker and mother who dedicated all her time to her family. Brenda was well loved in the communities of Sheldon, Crosby, and Shelbyville where she spent her later years with close family members. Brenda always expressed interest and love for her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Lydia Baptist Church, Huxley, Texas.

A visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Friday, April 22, 2016 at Rosewood Funeral Home, Porter, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Rosewood Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Gene Talbot officiating. Bobbie Tom (Davis) Tamplin, 90, of Houston, TX (formerly of Huxley, TX) passed away peacefully on April 13, 2016 with loved ones at her side.

A memorial service will be held at Watson and Sons Funeral Home in Center, TX on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 11 a.m.  Visitation will be at 10 a.m. (1 hour prior to the memorial service).  Interment will follow the memorial service at Strong Cemetery in Huxley, TX.

Bobbie was born in Shelby County in East Texas on September 12, 1925 to Roy and Beatrice “Bea” Davis.  She graduated from Stephen F. Austin University and later continued her education earning a Masters of Education from University of Houston in 1955.

On June 2, 1951 she was united in marriage to Otis Brodie Tamplin.  They were married a month and a half shy of 65 years.

After marriage, Bobbie and Brodie moved to Port Neches, TX to raise a family, with son, Michael “Mike” and daughter, Jane Ann.

Bobbie was an active member and Sunday School leader at First Baptist Church in Port Neches for many years.

She made a career as a teacher for 39 years; teaching at Strong,  Huxley, and Ballard in East Texas, and Bridge City, Port Neches Elementary and Port Neches-Groves High School.

After retirement she and Brodie moved back to East Texas to live in the piney woods near Toledo Bend.  They were active members at Lydia Baptist Church while in East Texas.  In 2008 they moved to Houston to be closer to their daughter.

She is survived by husband, Brodie Tamplin; daughter, Jane Ann Burnap and son-in-law, Walt Burnap; grand-daughter, Brooke Ainsworth and her husband, Ron Ainsworth; many nieces and nephews; and many cousins, all very dear.  She is pre-deceased by son, Mike Tamplin.

The family wishes to thank her doctors and caregivers for their excellent medical care and compassion.  They also wish to thank the kind staff at The Forum Healthcare Center, and the staff and friends at The Village of Tanglewood where they resided for over 6 years.  We are also thankful for the many friends and family that have visited over the years.

Nellie Smith Frasier, 81, of Groves, died Tuesday, April 19, 2016. She was born on June 3, 1934, in Arcadia, to Josephine King Smith and John Fears Smith. 

Nellie enjoyed gardening, fishing, and being a mother to all. 

Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Breaux Chapman of Groves; Sharon Frasier Lilly and her husband, Danny, of Timpson; and Cynthia Frasier Montana of Groves; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. She will be especially missed by her faithful Chihuahua, Friday. 

She was preceded in death by first husband, James Ray Breaux; husband of fifty years, Captain Ted Frasier; parents, Doc and Edie Smith; sons, Farrell, Doug, and Larry Frasier; three brothers; and two sisters. 

A gathering of Mrs. Frasier’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 21, 2016, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 22, 2016, at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, County Road 1470, Center.

Kenneth Earl Biggers, 61, of Center, passed away April 14, 2016 in Mexico.

Ken Biggers was born July 15, 1954, in Center, Texas, to Earl S. Biggers and LaVerne Lee Biggers.  He and his parents lived in East Texas until moving to England in 1962.  In England, he attended USAF - DOD schools at RAF Woodbridge and then graduated from RAF Lakenheath in 1972.  During his high school career, he participated and excelled in all sports, and developed lifelong friendships, which he maintained until his death.  He attended Panola Junior College and then began his oilfield career, spending most of it outside the USA, most recently in Mexico.

Cleveland Bobbie (C.B.) Redmon, 82 of Center, passed away April 1, 2016. Funeral service will be held at 11am Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Community Funeral Home, Center, Texas. Repass will be held at Val's Place, 149 C.R. 2235, Center, Texas. Interment will be at Bush/Haley Cemetery (Bland Lake) San Augustine, Texas with Rev. Jackie Garrett officiating.

On June 19, 1933 Cleveland Bobbie (CB) Redmon was born to the late Leo Redmon and Gladys Stansberry Redmon. He resided in Center, Texas for over 60 years. CB attended Prairie View College and served in the United States Army. He Married Polley Marie Suell on August 28, 1960, who preceded him in death July 2, 1978. To this union was born six children, four sons and two daughters. 

Also preceded in death by his Mother (Gladys Redmon), Father (Leo Redmon), Sister (Lola Mae McClelland), Brother (Raymond Redmon), Son (Bobbie Redmon) and a lifelong special friend Johnny Morris Byrd. 

C.B. was a devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and most of all playing dominoes. He was an avid sports fan and a respected softball coach within the community.

Bobby Allen Scott, 77, of Joaquin, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016 at his residence.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Mangum Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Pat Windham officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be prior to the service on Tuesday starting at 1:00 p.m. until service time at Mangum Funeral Home.

He was born September 8, 1938 in Shelby County, Texas to George Allen and Annie (Bass) Scott. He owned & operated a gas station in Joaquin for many years.

He is preceded in death by his Parents, Allen & Annie Scott

Kenneth Edgar “Sonny” Walker, 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 10, 2016.

Funeral service will be at 10am Tuesday, April 12, 2016 in the Chapel of Mangum Funeral Home in Center with Pastor Eugene Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Sholar Cemetery in Joaquin. Family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Monday evening, April 11, 2016 at the funeral home.

Sonny was born March 24, 1933 to Kinley Walker and Vernice Dawson Walker in Durant, Oklahoma. The family later moved to Texas where Sonny became a truck driver. At the age of 19, he met and married his beloved wife Laverne. Together, they had two sons and a daughter. Sonny loved being out on the river, fishing and running trot lines, playing his guitar and writing songs, and barbecuing and perfecting his BBQ sauce recipe.

Sonny was preceded in death by his parents Kinley and Vernice Walker, wife, Laverne Hutto Walker; brothers, Marvin and Ray Kenneth Walker; and sister Geneva Horn.

He is survived by:
