Earl Wood, age 94, of Center, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017 in Center. A funeral service is scheduled at 11 o’clock in the morning Friday, April 7, 2017 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville. He will be laid to rest at Oakland Cemetery near Rusk.

Earl was born March 5, 1922 in Cornell, WI to James and Edith A. Wood.

Mr. Wood retired from the Civil Service as a Journeyman Machinist and also served in the U.S. Army at Pearl Harbor during WWII as well as in the The Korean Conflict.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Robert Wood.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Reba Wood of Center, daughter Debbie Grimes and husband Eddie of Center, sons Doug Wood and wife Sharon of Jacksonville, Dan Wood and wife Anita of Modesto, CA, 10 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Clifford Grimes, Kaden Byrd, Jaden Rushing, Ryan Rushing, Glenn McCune and Paul Wood.

Visitation will begin on Thursday, April 6, 2017 and friends are cordially invited to visit with the family from 5 to 7 o’clock in the evening at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.

Annie Louise Martin of Garrison, Texas was born May 14, 1919 in Bland Lake Community in San Augustine, County, Texas to John Henry Bland and Meta Lillian (Jones) Bland. She entered into rest on April 3, 2017 in Garrison, Texas having reached the age of 97 years 10 months and 20 days.

Her service will be 10:00 am Friday, April 7, 2017 at the First Baptist Church, Garrison, Texas, Bro. John McGuire will officiate, burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:30pm to 7:30pm, Thursday, April 6, 2017 at the Garrison Funeral Home, Garrison, Texas.

Louise was a member of First Baptist Church and the Timpson Area Genealogical and Heritage Society she had been very active in the preparation of the Timpson Area History Book. Louise was the Lions club citizen of the year, member of the John Hancock Daughters of Confederacy, Garrison FFA Alumni, Eastern Star, and Lions Club.

Her survivors are son, Marvin Martin and wife Ladea of Garrison, Texas granddaughters; Tamra O’Reilly and husband Chris of Austin, Texas, Julia Konderla & husband Jeremy of Garrison, Texas and Ashley Harris & husband Matt of Garrison, Texas. Great-Grandchildren, Keegan, Cade, Kai O’Reilly, Aiden, Maci, Jaxon Konderla and Caleb Harris, nephew Bill Bland and wife Marjorie of Dallas, Texas and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by parents, John Henry and Meta Lillian Bland, husband Thomas Ernest (Tom) Martin, son; Thomas E. Martin Jr. and brother Clarence Bland. She and Tom was married for 73 years when he passed away.

Virginia McDaniel Faulk, 81, of Joaquin, passed away Monday, April 3, 2017, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Mrs. Faulk was born June 23, 1935, to Earl Wayne McDaniel and Laura Bell Gray McDaniel. She was a member of Jackson Baptist Church in Joaquin, where she sang in the choir.

Frank Smith Humphries, 92, of the Woods Community, passed away on Monday afternoon, April 3, 2017, in Carthage. He was born on Jan. 13, 1925, in Shelby County to the late Charles Edward and Florence Smith Humphries. Mr. Humphries served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He married Jean Bragg on May 5, 1955, in Shelby County. Mr. Humphries worked as a farmer and rancher in the Woods Community. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lois Bowden, Louise Adams, Ruby Powell, and Earline Burgess; brother, Edward Humphries; and grandchildren, Amanda Maurine and Benjamin Cody Post.

Mr. Humphries is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Jean Bragg Humphries; son Charles Ferrin Humphries and wife Regina of Carthage; daughter, JoAnn Post and husband Eddie of Diana; grandsons, Aaron Humphries of Livingston and David Humphries and wife Sarah of the Woods Community; granddaughter, Hannah Holmes and husband Zach; great-grandchildren, Charles Thomas and Roman David Humphries of the Woods Community; brother-in-law, Wesley Burgess of Dallas; sisters-in-law, Mary Cranford of Frisco and Mattie Hughes of Pasadena; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at Woods Cemetery with Chris Burris officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the graveside service.

She was born November 6, 1930 in Calhoon City, Mississippi to Joseph Franklin Therrell and Lottie Ila “Bryant” Therrell.

Tommy Darrell Broyles, 64, of Tenaha, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017, in Nacogdoches.

Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 3, 2017, at Ramah Cemetery in Tenaha with Bro. Keith Keele officiating.

Mr. Broyles was born June 15, 1952, in Muleshoe, to James Conward Broyles and Laverne Nichols Broyles.  He served in the United States Army.  His hobbies included hunting, fishing and golfing.  Mr. Broyles was a member of Tenaha Masonic Lodge #737, the Center Country Club and Ramah Baptist Church.

David Neel, 93, of Timpson, Texas passed away at his home on March 30, 2017. Born July 6, 1923 in Tennessee Community, Shelby County, Texas, he is the son of the late Charles Noble and Lettie (Holt) Neel.

His family moved to Joaquin when he was 13 years old. David graduated from Joaquin High School. Later he joined the United States Navy and served during World War II. While serving in World War II he was wounded when his ship was hit by enemy crossfire. David met the love of his life and was married on November 30, 1962. He was a salesman working many years for Helene Curtis and St. Regis Paper Co. travelling three states. He and Evelyn spent over 30 years as a chicken farmer in Shelby County before finally retiring and moving to town. David enjoyed gardening, working in the yard, and spending time with his family.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and great-grandfather. 

David was a lifelong member of Tennessee Presbyterian Church, and was the oldest active member of American Legion Post 90.

David is survived by:

James "Larry" Bradberry, 71, of Orange, Texas passed away Monday, February 27, 2016 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.

A Military Memorial Service is planned for Larry in Shelbyville Cemetery, Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 1:00pm.

Larry was born November 30, 1945 in Shelbyville, Texas to John Hulon Bradberry and Ida Miles Bradberry.

Larry Bradberry lived his early life in Shelbyville, Texas where he attended and graduated from Shelbyville High School . After graduation he proudly served his country and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

He was a resident of the Orange area for 18 years and retired Staff Sgt. from the U. S. Air Force after 21 years of service. He was a member of Grace Point at Eagle Heights Church and Bridge City American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Christy Bradberry of Orange; daughter, Jenifer Deann Faulkner of San Marcos; son, P. J. LeBlanc and his wife Macie of Bridge City; grandchildren, Janee' Horne, Derick Carey, Jaxon LeBlanc, Paighten LeBlanc, Brielle Belk, and Jude Belk.

A memorial service was held Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Grace Point at Eagle Heights Church.

Rita Ann Graves, 70, of Timpson, Texas, passed away on March 26, 2017 in Center, Texas. She was born on October 19, 1946 in Columbus, Georgia, to Louis Leon and Lana Evelyn (Griggs) Johnson. Graveside service will be on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Timpson, Texas.

Rita was born and raised in Columbus, Georgia and graduated from Columbus High School. She and her family then moved to Destin, Florida where her parents owned a motel on the beach. She became a professional fishing guide for tourists that came to Destin for vacation. She was not only a guide but fished for a living, catching over a 400lb grouper one day. She married the love of her life, Richard Graves, in April 1966 whom she has spent over 50 years with before going to be with her Lord. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family. 

Rita’s past time hobbies include genealogy and observing nature.  She absolutely loved watching the birds and squirrels.  Rita was a lifelong member of the Eastern Star, Adah Chapter No. 49 in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.

Robbie Jean (Ham) Waldon was born June 4, 1926 and entered eternal peace March 25, 2017.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, March 28 at 11:00 a.m. at Huntington Cemetery in Huntington Texas with Reverend Charles Williams officiating.

Robbie Jean Waldon was the epitome of love and kindness. She will always be remembered for her kind actions and her down to earth sense of humor and wit that brought smiles to all.

She helped care for and raise her grandchildren Justin, Eric, Christi, Jenni and Angie. She showed all her grandchildren what pure kindness and love look like. Always inquiring and proud of her great grandchildren Jade, Josh, Gabriel, Emmett, and Chloe. She was so proud of all of her family and was always ready to show off her many family photos to anyone willing to sit, look, and listen. Robbie Jean really cherished her family!

MaMaw was the kindest, sweetest, and funniest soul you could meet. She did so much for her family. We hope she knows how cherished she was and that she will forever be in our hearts.

We love you dearly Robbie Jean!!

She was preceded in death by her husband Eddie Waldon and her seven siblings.

Martha Jane Branch was born November 17, 1938 in Kirbyville, TX to Ezell and Bertha Golden and passed away peacefully in her home with her family by her side March 21, 2017.  Martha was formerly of League City, TX and moved to Shelbyville in 1991.  She enjoyed traveling with her husband and also loved taking girl trips with her daughters.  Martha enjoyed hosting family gatherings, and the highlight of her year was the annual Branch/Golden family reunion, many times held at the family home on the hill in Shelbyville.  Another event each year was the arrival of C.R. and his friends who came every November to their property to hunt and enjoy Miss Martha’s home cooking.  She took great pride in her family’s many accomplishments, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a special source of pride and joy.  Martha was known as “Nanny” by her grandchildren, and that name was used by nearly everyone who knew and loved her.  Her door was always open and there seemed to be a never-ending parade of people stopping by to visit with Nanny throughout the years.  She truly lived her life in service to her family, and was the most content when we all were gathered at her home.

Martha is preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Jackie Williford and Wanda Duerr; brother, Dean Golden, and by her youngest son, Curtis Roy Branch.  The family takes comfort in knowing that they are now together again.

Her memory will be cherished by her husband of 61 years, Raymond Branch; daughters: Barbara Vaughn, husband Robert, Brenda Sullivan and Bonnie Branch; son, C.R. Branch, wife Debbie; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; brothers: Gene Golden, wife Jeanette, Mack Golden, wife Helen; sister, Alice Berry, husband Mike, numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family members.

A visitation will be held Friday, March 24, 2017 from 11am – 2pm at Crowder Funeral Home in League City with the funeral service to begin at 2pm.  Burial will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Jack Holland, Eric Sullivan, Randy Sullivan, Cory Ivey, Ryon Vaughn and Travis Branch.

A special note of thanks to Bonnie for all her loving care of Mom throughout these last years.

Lola Grace Campbell, 96, of Huxley formerly of McLeansboro, IL, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Magnolia Court Nursing Home in Nacogdoches.

Graveside Service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Oddfellows Cemetery in McLeansboro, IL with Rev. Mark Byars and Rev. Robert “Bud” Sefried. Visitation will be one hour prior to the graveside service in Illinois.

She was born February 15, 1921 in Alden, Iowa to William and Emma (Manning) Sneed. She worked at a sewing factory where she was a supervisor for many years. She was a 50 year member of Smiths Chapel Church in McLeansboro, IL. She was currently a member of First Baptist Church in McLeansboro, IL. She was also a member of HEA, WMU and the VFW Auxiliary.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Emma Sneed, Husband, George Franklin Campbell, Son, Kevin Campbell and Great Granddaughter, Addison Grace Nalley.

She is survived by:
