August 24, 2015 - John Olive(left) and Jason Wells(right) show off 4 of their five bass winning stringer.

August 24, 2015 - The Shelby County Bass Anglers wrapped up a busy month of August down at Holly Park Marina on Toledo Bend. Due to high water temps and excessive heat, the club voted to conduct an early weigh in at 2pm to preserve the health of the bass for a quick release after weigh in.

33 teams of anglers showed up to brave the heat, and storms that blew across the lake on Saturday afternoon.

John Olive and Jason Wells did not have many bites during the day but were able to coax the right ones onto their lines with a winning sack of 21.93lbs. The team would like to thank Lews reels, TFO fishing rods, Huk outdoor apparel, and most importantly – their spouses for support and sponsorships!

Ryan Pinkston, who is no stranger to the pay window, came in with a close second place finish of 20.89lbs anchored by the overall big bass of the event weighing 6.46lbs.

The father/son team of James and Philip Crelia, owners of Hometown Marine, showed up with a third place limit of bass weighing 19.22lbs.

Rounding out the money slots was the team of David Koonce and Brandon Wells. Their nice sack of fish tipped the scales at 16.41lbs.

This month’s tournament sponsors were Center Glass who will present the winners with a nice plaque.

The season is winding down with one qualifying event to go before the Norris Askew Championship in October and the Anglers of the Year race is definitely heating up.
