David’s Daily Devotion for Jan 2

January 2, 2026 - Good Morning! It’s Friday, January 2.

On January 2, 1902, a man applied for a patent on his brand new invention, an invention that would change America, an invention that would change the world. David's Daily Devotion for Dec. 22

December 22, 2025 - Good Morning! It’s Monday, December 22.

As a student of the Bible, wouldn’t you be thrilled to have the chance to sit down with a Bible character and interview them? What would you ask Moses? What questions would you have for Paul? This morning we focus on a man who may very well have had just such an opportunity. Today we look at Luke.

David’s Daily Devotion for Dec. 19

December 19, 2025 - Good Morning! It’s Friday, December 19.

We conclude our week of carol stories with a tale you probably know well - but never tire of hearing. Even though we’ve heard the nativity stories in the Gospels of Luke and Matthew countless times, they never cease to inspire our spirits. December 17, 2025 - Good Morning! It’s Wednesday, December 17.

We continue, this morning, with our Christmas series, and with our focus on stories behind the carols. Today’s choice is one of my all-time favorites, and is, hands down, the most difficult carol to sing. It has a vocal range equal to our National Anthem, another notoriously challenging song. Today, our featured carol is “O Holy Night”.

December 16, 2025 - Good Morning! It’s Tuesday, December 16.

Do you memorize scripture? Memorization, in general, is a powerful mental discipline. Memorization of scripture is a powerful spiritual discipline. And after all, the Bible commands us to “hide its words in our hearts”. Everybody has at least some verses by memory - passages like The Lord’s Prayer and The 23rd Psalm, for instance. There’s another passage that we all know, as well, and that’s the Nativity story from Luke Chapter 2.
