David's Daily Devotion for April 3

April 3, 2024 - Good Morning! It's Wednesday, April 3.

I love history. I love historical novels and documentaries. And I love collecting, because every antique is a little piece of history. So, here's a profound thought. History, without "His story" is incomplete.

Jesus Christ is the center of history. We record time by either counting down to Bethlehem (BC), or by counting from it (AD). Jesus is the center of time. He is the center of God's plan for humanity. He is the center of our story.

David's Daily Devotion for April 2

April 2, 2024 - Good Morning! It's Tuesday, April 2.

Do you know the name Karl Barth? He is considered, by many, to be the greatest Christian theologian of the 20th century. He influenced Dietrich Bonhoeffer and Reinhold Niebuhr. Pope Paul called him the greatest theologian since Thomas Aquinas. Google some of these names and your brain will never return to its original size.

David’s Daily Devotion for Apr. 1

April 1, 2024 - Good Morning! It's Monday, April 1.

I hope you and yours had a blessed Easter weekend. The legendary words of the angel at the tomb are still ringing in our ears - "He is not here.  He is risen!" And now we begin a brand-new month, the beautiful month of April. But be on the alert today for all those "April foolers" out there!

David's Daily Devotion for March 29

March 29, 2024 - Good Morning! It's Friday, March 29.

We come to the end of our five-day series on what Jesus was doing each day of the original Holy Week. During the last four days we've witnessed His encounters with friends and foes, with those who loved Him, and with those who plotted against Him.

And now, today - Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of Man, the Lamb of God, the Christ, the Messiah, our Savior - is savagely nailed to a rugged wooden cross. It is Good Friday.

David's Daily Devotion for March 27

March 27, 2024 - Good Morning! It's Wednesday, March 27.

We continue today with our week-long series that looks at what Jesus was doing each day of that first Holy Week.

Wednesday saw Jesus and His disciples back in Bethany, a couple of miles east of Jerusalem, near the Mount of Olives. It would be a day of dramatic contrasts. A day with an inspiring act of worship and a disturbing act of betrayal.

David’s Daily Devotion for March 25

March 25, 2024 - Good Morning! It's Monday, March 25.

I hope you had a wonderful and blessed Palm Sunday. And now . . . on to Easter!  But what happened on all those days between the two famous Sundays?  Each day this week, we'll take a look.

On Monday, Jesus returned to Jerusalem. He and His disciples had spent Sunday night in Bethany, two miles east of the Holy City, at the home of good friends Mary, Martha, and Lazarus. But, on that morning, Jesus was in the temple.
