David’s Daily Devotion for July 15

July 15, 2026 - Good Morning!  It’s Wednesday, July 15.

On July 15, 1798, a great mystery was solved.  Napoleon’s army had just invaded Egypt, when a French soldier stumbled upon an engraved stone in a town called Rosetta.  This “Rosetta Stone” would become the key to unlock the mystery of the ancient Egyptian language, a language that was born 4000 years before Bethlehem.

David’s Daily Devotion for July 14

July 14, 2026 - Good Morning! It’s Tuesday, July 14.

I have a little book in my library titled “A Father’s Book of Wisdom”.  My daughter gave it to me on a long ago Father’s Day. I’m not sure if she was suggesting that I was, in fact, a wise father, or that I needed some assistance in the wisdom department.  Anyway, this little book’s filled with pithy little thoughts. Here’s a few.

David’s Daily Devotion for July 13

July 13, 2026 - Good Morning!  It’s Monday, July 13.

What’s the greatest book in the Bible?  There’s many possible answers to that question since each person’s choice would be pretty subjective.  Some would probably say Psalms.  Others might say Revelation or the Gospel of John (my choice).  But recently a large group of theologians were asked this question and the most votes for greatest Bible book went to . . . Romans.

David's Daily Devotion for July 10

July 10, 2026 - Good Morning! It’s Friday, July 10.

On this day, in 1965, a new #1 song was crowned in America. It was the first hit record for a British group that had long played second fiddle to the mighty Beatles. On July 10, The Rolling Stones staked their claim to greatness with the song “I Can’t Get No Satisfaction.” The message spoke to the restless, searching generation of the Sixties, and it still personifies our culture today.

David’s Daily Devotional for July 9

July 9, 2026 - Good Morning! It’s Thursday, July 9.

Today is Grocery Day at my house. This auspicious moment comes around about every ten days for us, depending on how hungry we’ve been. Before I retired I never experienced the honor of being part of Grocery Day, but I’m on the team now! And I’ve learned that it all comes down to one thing. One word. Choices.

David's Daily Devotion for July 3

July 3, 2026 - Good Morning! It’s Friday, July 3.

Israel Beilin was born in 1888 in Siberia, Russia. His father made his living as a cantor, a singer in the Jewish synagogue. When Israel was five-years-old, an angry, racist mob burned his village to the ground. His family lost their home, but found a new one in the New World, settling in the very poorest part of New York City. They were joined by hundreds of thousands of Jewish immigrants who came to America in the years right before and right after the turn of the century, escaping persecution.
