April 21, 2016 - The Center Women’s Reading Club met in the Reddit Room at the Fannie Brown Booth Memorial Library on April 7, 2016. Mrs. Dottie West was the hostess as well as program leader. President Janene Walker welcomed members.
March 28, 2016 - Polly Smith was the hostess and program leader for the March 17th meeting of the Center Women’s Reading Club. President, Janene Walker welcomed members and guest. The Center Women’s Reading Club members have been invited by the Carthage Reading Club to attend a special program and lunch on April 18. Gae-Lynn Woods, author of the Cass Elliott Crime Series will be the speaker. The Center ladies voted to attend the Carthage program in lieu of the regularly scheduled April 21st meeting.
March 1, 2016 - The Center Women’s Reading Club met at the lovely home of Suzanne Ihlo on January 21st. President, Janene Walker presided over the Annual Meeting. The Club approved the 2016-2017 Budget.
Suzanne Ihlo presented a program on Edna Gladney, an incredible lady who fought for children’s rights and adoption reform. Born in Milwaukee in 1886, Edna Gladney was labeled as “illegitimate” from birth and, as an adult, lobbied for that label’s removal from all birth certificates.
November 11, 2015 - The Center Women’s Reading Club met at the lovely home of Fannie Watson on November 5, 2015. President Janene Walker presided. The business portion of the meeting was conducted.
