Center Woman’s Reading Club Features 'The Book of Charlie'

October 17, 2024 - The Center Woman’s Reading Club met October 3 in the First Methodist Church fellowship hall. The members enjoyed a perfect fall meal of frito pie and butter cake provided by member Angie Davis.

During the business meeting, Corresponding Secretary Fannie Watson read a letter from Sandra Davis thanking the club for the generous donation made to the Fannie Brown Booth Memorial Library.

Center Woman’s Reading Club News Includes Book Report on 'The Burial Place'

October 19, 2023 - The Center Woman’s Reading Club met October 5. After the business meeting the club enjoyed a time of fellowship and a delicious lunch provided by Angie Davis. Dottie West presented a most interesting book report on the novel The Burial Place written by Larry Enmon. Mr. Enmon grew up in Shelbyville, Texas. He and his wife now reside in Dallas but often visit the family farm in Shelbyville. Known for writing suspense thrillers and crime mysteries, he often includes references and storylines in East Texas towns in his novels. He is retired from the U.S.
