February 24, 2016 - Tuesday night at 9:35pm a man traveling on FM 417 East collided with a large Oak tree which fell in front of him and he survived. High winds were blowing and had moved through the area for the majority of the day which could have been the cause of the tree falling.
February 23, 2016 - In front of a sold out crowd in Bossier City, Sunshine Haley made her debut into the world of MMA fighting and won it against her opponent with a final ruling of TKO.
Andrew Dolan, formerly of Huxley and now a coach at Whitehouse High School, was featured in an article published by Tyler Morning Telegraph. Dolan went fishing and at the end of his fishing trip had the catch of the day, a man who was in danger of drowning on Lake Tyler. February 17, 2016 - Center boys varsity basketball team fell in their second game of district competition against Henderson with a final score of 51-58. Riders had a decisive victory over the Henderson Lions at their previous match but failed to rally against the Lions in Tuesday's game, February 16th.
Points scored were Octavius Evans (23), Tyrone Roland (9), Kaleb Parks (6), Kyle Parks (6), Lamarcus Goodwin (3), DaCorey McGee (2), and Jaterious Evans (2).
February 15, 2016 - Center Varsity Boys basketball team defeated the Tatum Eagles Friday, February 12th ending Tatum's 10-game winning streak and handing the Eagles their first loss of District play. The final score was Roughriders 71, Eagles 57. The win tied the two teams giving both a 6-1 record for 4A Region III District 19.
Tatum took charge of the first period with 18 points scored to Center's 9 points and at the half led by 5 points 28-33.
February 11, 2016 - Timpson Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) assisted with traffic control in rainy weather at a crash which occurred at 12:31pm on US Hwy 84 west of Timpson on Saturday, February 6, 2016.
February 10, 2016 - The Center Boys Varsity basketball team played against Rusk Tuesday, February 9th winning 61-54 bringing their season to 15-8.
The Roughriders were ahead 14 to 6 at the end of the first period. The Eagles fought back in the second period scoring 18 points to the Riders 16 and tied the game at the end of the 3rd period, 41-41.
Riders didn't back down and went for the win during the 4th period scoring 20 points to the Eagles 13 and advanced their district standing to 5-1.
