March 1, 2024 - A new owner ribbon cutting event for Deleite was well attended by the Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors and other community members on Wednesday, February 21, 2024.

February 22, 2024 - Center's basketball trailblazer, Retha Swindell, will be inducted into the Texas Black Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday, February 24, 2024 in Dallas. Swindell is a 1975 graduate of Center High School and is a 2014 Center Hall of Honor Award Recipient.

February 20, 2024 - Early voting in the 2024 March 5th Primary Elections began Tuesday at the Center Community House, 423 San Augustine Street, Center, Texas 75935. ​Early voting hours of operation are as follows:

January 30, 2024 - At 3:23pm on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, Timpson ISD posted on their Facebook page, "Timpson ISD was made aware of a potential situation in the area and went into a complete lockdown in a matter of seconds. The lockdown lasted for less than 10 minutes. At this time there is no threat to any Timpson ISD campus."
