January 24, 2023 - Due to inclement weather, the Center Livestock Auction scheduled for tomorrow, January 25 has been cancelled. The auction will resume the following week on Wednesday, February 1, 2023.

January 8, 2023 - According to Shelby County Sheriff Kevin Windham, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department phone lines are down until at least Monday, January 9. Dispatch operators can be reach at 936-234-1244.

December 19, 2022 - A police officer was arrested over the weekend and booked into the Shelby County Jail with four charges. Allen Rangel, 29 of Mt. Pleasant, was charged with assault of a public servant; assault causing bodily injury - family member; resisting arrest, search, or transport; and terroristic threat against public servant.
