May 25, 2023 - Commissioner Tom Bellmyer announces County Road 4333 is now open for traffic. The culvert on CR 4333 that was washed out on April 26, 2023, during storm conditions has now been replaced with a bridge.

County Road 4333 is now open to all normal local traffic.

May 18, 2023 - Two LaTourneau University Softball players from Shelby County earned honorable mention in the 2023 American Southwest Conference Softball Awards. The ASC awards were announced Wednesday, May 17, 2023 on ascsports.org.

Mickenzie Murry, whose hometown is Shelbyville and she is a 2020 Graduate of Shelbyville High School, is a junior at the university and is receiving the honor for the 2nd time in her career.

Updated: Roadways not passable are CR 4854 and CR 4885 which is under water.

Updated: Sheriff advises DPS reports roadways cleared are CR 4800, CR 4843, CR 4830, CR 4807, CR 4888, CR 4249 to FM 2026, CR 4849 to CR 4854, and CR 4012 to CR 4021 to SH 87.

April 26, 2023 - Sheriff Kevin Windham reports a emergency response command post has been setup at the Timpson Fire Station. The precinct will be broken up into grids to assess the damage.
