Shelby County to Receive 200 Vaccine First Doses of Moderna; Texas Expands Eligibility

March 15, 2021 - The 14th week of vaccine distribution starts March 15, 2021 and Shelby County has two provider on the list. Aurora Concepts and Brookshire Brother's Pharmacy are both allocated to receive 100 Moderna vaccine doses.

Aurora Concepts can be contacted at 936-598-3296 to schedule a vaccine.

Shelby County, a part of Public Health Region 4/5N, reports over the past week an additional 702 people have been vaccinated with at least one dose for a total of 2,797.

Covid-19 Update: 2 New Deaths, 82 Active Cases

March 14, 2021 - The Texas DSHS Covid-19 Dashboard reports on Sunday, March 14th a total of 61 fatalities from COVID-19 which is an increase of 2 new since the March 11th report. The new death count for the year 2021 is 21.

The county has 82 active cases and 12 new recoveries. Of the 9 new cases added since March 11th, 1 was a new confirmed case and 8 were new probable cases.

Covid-19 Update: 87 Active Cases includes 8 New Cases Since Tuesday

March 11, 2021 - The Texas DSHS Covid-19 Dashboard updated Thursday, March 11th reporting 8 new cases and 9 new recoveries over the past two days. The new estimated active case count is 87.

Of the new active cases, 1 was a new confirmed case and 7 were new probable cases.

March 9, 2021 - The Texas DSHS Covid-19 Dashboard updated Tuesday with 2 new cases, 1 new recovery, and a new estimated active case count of 88 on March 9, 2021. Of the new active cases, 1 was a new confirmed case and 1 was a new probable case.

Covid-19 Update: 85 Active Cases, 2 Recoveries

March 7, 2021 - The Texas DSHS Covid-19 Dashboard updated at 1:45pm with 2 new probable cases, 2 new recoveries, and a new estimated active case count of 85 on March 6, 2021.

Of the 2 new probable cases, DSHS reports 1 is an older probable case reported by a lab.

The number of total confirmed cases reduced by 1 for a new total of 879. Case reductions have occurred before when cases are discovered to belong to a different county of residence. There was no explanation as to why the decrease.

March 5, 2021 - The Texas DSHS Covid-19 Dashboard updated at 1:50pm with 1 new confirmed case, 1 new death, and 3 new recoveries on March 5, 2021.

The new estimated active case count is 86. The new death count from Covid-19 for 2021 is now 19.
