May 10, 2019 - Shelbyville Dragons won their first and second game against Alto May 10, 2019 in the Baseball Area Playoffs being held in Rusk. Both games ended with a score of 2-1 and the Dragons Area Champions! The Dragons advance to the Regional Quarterfinals to play against either Gary or Cushing who play tomorrow.

May 9, 2019 - Precinct 4 Commissioner Tom Bellmyer has reported as of 4:54pm, May 10, 2019, the water across CR 4323 has receded and the road is now passable.
Precinct 4 Commissioner Tom Bellmyer reports flooding on CR 4323 in the river bottom at the location of the three bridge. Bellmyer estimates the water is 18 inches deep. Trucks have been able to go through but he encourages everyone to use extreme caution. Remember: Turn around, don't drown.
May 6, 2019 - UT Tyler will host its Spring 2019 Commencement ceremonies Friday and Saturday, May 3-4 in the R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center.
Jazmin Patricia Romo, a 2015 Graduate of Center High School, will be receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from during the College of Engineering commencement ceremony set for 9am on May 4th. Commencement speakers are Moody Chisholm, President and CEO of UT Health East Texas, and David King, President and CEO of Primoris Services Corporation.

May 4, 2019 - Make plans to attend the 9th Annual Go Texan Spring Fling which has awarded over $250,000 in local scholarships to over 250 students in Shelby County since 2012!
The Go Texan Spring Fling is Saturday, May 4th at 5:30pm at the John D. Windham Civic Center, 146 Express Blvd, Center, Texas 75935.
Admission is $25 per person. There will be music, games, live auction, silent auction, and numerous raffle items. An open bar will be available for guests 21 and over.
