October 24, 2018 - Dave Campbell's Texas Football School of the Week presented by U.S. Army selected Shelbyville as the 2A school of the week for Week 8.
In the announcement, Shelbyville is described as follows: In a wild back-and-forth affair, the Dragons got six total touchdowns from QB Jaylon Brinson and held of a West Sabine in overtime, 44-42.

September 28, 2018 - The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and the Auxiliary passed out birthday cupcakes to employees working around the Center Square on Friday, September 28th. The VFW is celebrating its 118th Birthday and the Auxiliary is celebrating its 103rd Birthday.
September 27, 2018 - Shelbyville students gathered around the flag pole of the High School campus on early Wednesday, September 26th for a student led 'See You at the Pole' event before going to class.
