All five of Shelby County’s varsity football teams competed again last Friday.
The Center Roughriders moved their record to 2-0 with a convincing 63-6 home win over the Spring Hill Panthers. Center will host the North Desoto Griffins on Friday, September 9, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. The Griffins have no posted scores.
Junior quarterback Ja’Tyrion Moore had a big day in Tenaha’s 50-38 over the West Sabine Tigers during their varsity football season opener. Moore rushed for six touchdowns, passed for another score and made two 2-point conversions during the win. The game was played at Timpson High School due to heavy rain.
The Timpson Bears varsity football team has started off their 2022 regular football season with a 1-0 record after gaining a 53-22 road win over the Beckville Bearcats.
All five Shelby County high school football teams will begin preparing for the 2022 football season next week. August 1st will mark the first day teams are allowed to conduct non-contact conditioning drills.
Tuesday saw various extracurricular activities sharpening their skillsets at Centers Roughriders Stadium. Among programs holding practices and camps where High School Football, Band, and pre-high school football age players. Coaches and drill instructors were spotted giving fundamental instructions on basic techniques and proper form.
