The Center Lady Roughriders Varsity Track Team will soon have three athletes headed to the Texas 2022 UIL Track & Field State Meet which will be held May 12-14 at Mike A. Myers Stadium on The University of Texas at Austin campus.
The Joaquin Rams varsity baseball team won a bi-district baseball playoff at West Sabine High School to begin this year’s Texas UIL Baseball Playoffs. The game was Game 1 of a best-of- three game series in the bi-district round between the representatives of District 23 2A and District 24 2A.
The Center Roughriders varsity baseball team fell to the Carthage Bulldogs by a 10-0 score at Bulldogs Ballpark. Carthage used an 11-2 hit advantage during the game to improve their District 14 4A record to 7-2 with one game remaining. Center stands at 2-7 in the conference.
The Center Lady Roughriders varsity softball team struggled and lost 11-1 to the undefeated (9-0) Jasper Lady Bulldogs. Tuesday’s game was Center’s final home game and they hosted a Senior Day for student athletes Gracie Wisenant, Kaiya Hubbard and Skylar Causey.
The Shelbyville Lady Dragons rallied big in the bottom of both the fourth and fifth inning to take an 11-1 win over the visiting Mount Enterprise Wildcats on Thursday.
The Joaquin Lady Rams varsity softball team earned a District 22 2A home win over the Garrison Lady Bulldogs as they took a 14-4 run advantage and ended the game in the bottom of the sixth inning due to mercy rule.
