In God's Word: The Light of the World

March 19, 2020 - We have multitudes of people in the world today who do not believe in God, neither the Father nor the Son nor the Holy Spirit.

The world is no different today than it was 2000 years ago when Jesus walked the earth and taught those who would listen and believe the gospel truth of His Way.

Jesus worked to convert those of Israel who followed the teaching of Moses, what is called the Mosaic Law, to his gospel, the message of repentance and redemption and salvation from sin.

In God's Word: Born into Darkness, Saved into Light

March 2, 2020 - All men are born under sin, with what is referred to as the "sin nature," disobedience to the will of God.

Inherited from the first man and woman, Adam and Eve, as they sinned against God in the Garden of Eden.

That lost or sin nature is what the apostle Paul is referring to in the book of Romans when he says,

"None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; not one seeks for God. All have returned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one." (Romans 3:11-12)

In God's Word: King of Glory

February 18, 2020 - Please let me show you this day who owns this universe and all the things within it and let us all learn how we can gain favor with this all powerful, all knowing, all seeing God above us.

"The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein, for he has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers." (Psalm 24:1-2)

In God's Word: Stewardship

February 17, 2020 - Stewardship - what is the meaning of that word, how does it apply to the life of a Christian.

Stewardship - according to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary is: The careful and responsible management of something entrusted to one's care.

If we are talking about stewardship, then stewardship of what? The management of the things the Lord has entrusted to each one of us, for all anyone has is given him by the Lord.

In God's Word: Be Saved Today

February 6, 2020 - Many ask, "But how do I ask the Lord for salvation, how can I be saved"? This prayer of king David for his own salvation is a great example of how one can should ask for the salvation of the Lord upon oneself.

"To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul. Oh my God, in you I trust; let me not be put to shame; let not my enemies exult over me. Indeed, none who wait for you shall be put to shame; they shall be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous."

In God’s Word: One God, One Lord, One Glory, One Master of All

February 4, 2020 - God bestowed great wisdom on king Solomon for as a very young man, with the death of his father David, he took responsibility for the rule of Israel.

God asked of Solomon, "Ask what I shall give you." (2 Chronicles 1:7)

Unlike most young men, Solomon did not ask for riches or wealth, he asked only that God give him the wisdom and knowledge to rule his people.

In God's Word: Return Unto Me

Thus declares the Lord of hosts, "Return to me, says the Lord of hosts, and I will return to you, says the Lord of hosts." (Zechariah 1:3)

January 27, 2020 - This is the call of the Lord to all people, that all should return to him, that all should turn from their wicked ways, repent of their sins, seek his face and pray to him for  salvation.

The Lord makes this call for he does not wish that any should perish but that all should reach repentance.

In God's Word: I Am Not Ashamed

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.” (Romans 1:16)

January 20, 2020 - Jesus said that if we are ashamed of him to others, he will be ashamed of us to the Father.

I am not ashamed of the gospel of our Lord, no, I praise it for it is the power of God manifest, first in Christ Jesus and forever in our Holy Bible.
