June 22, 2020 - Panola College is proud to announce the establishment of the Robby Smith Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship was formed by Robby Smith’s close friends and family.
May 12, 2020 - Panola College is now accepting applications for the CARES Act Student Relief Fund grants that will provide direct financial support to students impacted by the coronavirus and COVID-19. The application is available on the Panola College website and will remain open until May 22, 2020. Funds will be dispersed after the application has closed and applicants have been verified.
May 19, 2020 - Panola College proudly announces the names of those students named to the President’s and Dean’s Lists for the spring 2020 semester.
To qualify for the President’s List, students must complete the semester with a GPA between 3.8 and 4.0 with a minimum of 12 semester credit hours. Only courses applying toward an associate degree or certificate are included in the computation.

May 8, 2020 - Panola College had to cancel its 85th Commencement, which was planned for Thursday, May 7, because of COVID-19 and the social distancing rules in place. Spring Commencement recognizes 359 degree and certificate candidates.
“Under normal circumstances, we would see over 220 of those candidates walk across the stage to receive their diplomas with friends and family in the audience,” said Greg Powell, Panola College President.
May 7, 2020 - As the spring semester comes to a unique end at Panola College, the College is already making plans to carefully resume face-to-face instruction on August 19.
“The health and safety of Panola College students, faculty, and staff is always our first priority,” said Dr. Greg Powell, Panola College president. “We want our students to enjoy the full college experience including face-to-face classes, sports, fine art events, and living on-campus. Our re-opening committee is working hard on ways to do this safely.”
May 5, 2020 - The Panola College Foundation announced a second round of direct funding opportunities to students affected by COVID-19. Applications are open now and will remain open until funding runs out.
May 4, 2020 - The sold-out Panola College Foundation Spring 2020 Designer Purse Bingo has been canceled because of the coronavirus. Because of the uncertainty in the current environment, and to follow the guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control, it is with great regret that the Panola College Foundation announces the cancellation of their 2020 Designer Purse Bingo fundraisers.
April 30, 2020 - Panola College Art Professor Amanda Clements’ watercolor and mixed media artwork, “Evening Wildflowers,” is on display at the R.W. Norton Art Gallery in Shreveport, La., as part of “BLOOM! 2020,” a juried exhibition.
April 23, 2020 - Panola College will receive a $1,507,332 federal grant to provide direct emergency cash to students, and to cover school expenses related to the coronavirus and COVID-19. The funding is available through the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund authorized by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.
April 22, 2020 - The Carthage Walmart has awarded a $1,000 grant to support Panola College scholarships for the 2020-2021 academic year. Jessica Pace, Director of Institutional Advancement, announced the grant and said this is the second year in a row the local Walmart has supported the College through the grant program.
“It couldn’t have come at a better time,” Pace said. “With the economic hardships resulting from the pandemic, our students need additional financial support provided through scholarships.”
