March 31, 2016 - Panola College instructor, Diantha Renfro, will be teaching Zumba® Gold. This class takes the Zumba formula and modifies the moves and pacing to suit the needs of the older participant. Classes will be offered Monday and Wednesday: April 4 – May 11, 2016. Classes will be held at Shelby College Center. We will be offering two different sessions: 4:15 pm – 5:15 pm and 5:20 pm – 6:20 pm.
March 28, 2016 - Panola College won its 3rd conference series in a row last weekend, defeating Paris JC 7-6 but couldn't get the sweep by dropping the rubber game 3-4. Panola extends its overall record to 23-9 on the season and 6-6 in Region IV Conference play.
Paris took the lead in the seventh inning, and Panola was unable to muster a comeback, losing 4-3 in seven innings on Friday.
March 28, 2016 - The 15th annual Panola County National Wild Turkey Federation Banquet will be held Friday, April 1st at the Carthage Civic Center. Doors will open at 6pm and dinner will be served at 7:30pm. There will be a live and silent auction, games, and plenty of raffle items to give away.
March 24, 2016 - The M.P. Baker Library of Panola College and the Sammy Brown Library have partnered in a new offering for the community. After a recent author signing where Bobbie Shafer and Cathy Myers were featured, many visitors to the author event expressed interest in learning the tricks of the trade to becoming published authors. These ladies host Lone Star Writing Workshops for just this purpose.
March 22, 2016 - The Panola College Workforce and Continuing Education division is offering a Retirement class April 5 and April 12, 2016. The class will meet from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The cost of the class is $15.00 for single and $25.00 for couple. Pre-registration is required. March 21, 2016 - The Health Sciences Division of Panola College will host a “Second Career Open House” for community members who are interested in finding out more about options for health careers. The Open House will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m.,Tuesday, March 29, in the Health and Natural Sciences Building in Carthage, TX. Advisors will be available to assist people with degree plans and to provide information about how to apply and register for classes, as well as financial aid options.
