October 27, 2016 - When I drive across the district meeting with community leaders, local elected officials and constituents, I am constantly reminded of how lucky we are to live in East Texas.

August 25, 2016 - Students have gone back to school and we will soon celebrate Labor Day saying goodbye to the summer. I hope that you have a safe and enjoyable weekend with your friends and family.

June 30, 2016 - With summer officially upon us and as you enjoy the sunshine, don't forget to enjoy a piece of pecan pie, which is the State Pie of Texas. July 12th is National Pecan Pie Day, so it's a great day to indulge. 

May 13, 2016 Austin, TX - Senator Robert Nichols (R-Jacksonville) announced the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) is accepting applications for a grant award for early warning systems. In light of significant and deadly flooding events over the past year, TWDB has made it a priority to enhance the abilities of communities to warn citizens and respond to flood emergencies in a timely and effective manner.
