June 15, 2017 - Emily Bowlin, Chief Financial Officer/Notary Public, swore in newly elected school board members, Tracy Collins and Vickie Jernigan, on June 5, 2017 at a regular school board meeting.
June 14, 2017 - On May 17, 2005, the Tenaha Independent School District Board of Trustees approved the creation of the Tenaha Tiger Hall of Honor in order to recognize those individuals that have distinguished themselves as past or current educators, alumni, or supporters of the Tenaha school system. Following are the rules:
Inductees: Four Categories
A. Alumni
B. Athletes
C. Educators
D. Supporters
Inductees may be nominated five years after graduation or have given five years of service to Tenaha ISD.
June 12, 2017 - Tenaha ISD students will start their 2017-2018 school year on Monday, August 28, 2017. Teachers are scheduled to begin teacher in-service days starting Monday, August 14, 2017. Click here for the new year elementary school supply list.
Tenaha ISD is aware of the distribution of bibles by a member of The Gideon’s International organization on the Tenaha Elementary campus on Wednesday, May 17, 2017.
The group submitted a request to the campus principal and was allowed to distribute the non-school literature on campus during non-instructional time in accordance with Tenaha ISD Board Policy GKDA. Tenaha local policy establishes a limited public forum for the distribution of non-school related materials under the First Amendment.
May 31, 2017 - Tenaha student Pacey Rhodes, son of Heather and Robbie Rhodes, competed in the Texas State Junior High Finals this past week in chute dogging. Pacey finished 2nd in average time and 3rd place in points.
May 25, 2017 - The Tenaha Summer Food Service Program starts June 1st and is all summer long. The program provides healthy summer meals for kids at no cost for kids 18 and younger. On Thursday, June 1, 2017 the menu is pancake on a stick with peaches, juice, milk for breakfast and cheeseburger with pickles, tots, pears, apple for lunch. Click here for the full menu.
May 19, 2017 - Elementary Robotics teams, 4th and 5th grades, competed in Kilgore on May 16, 2017 and came away with a 1st place trophy and 2nd place trophy. Congratulations Tigers!
