May 27, 2015 - Shelbyville High School will be holding Project Graduation this year on May 29, 2015. Project Graduation is an all night event honoring graduates that are drug and alcohol free. It provides a safe alternative for graduates who might otherwise be partying. It keeps graduates off the roads, prevents them from becoming an accident statistic, and give their parent ease of knowing their son/daughter is safely celebrating.
March 31, 2015 - The Shelbyville High School One Act Play will compete in bi-district competition at Panola College April 10.
At the March 27th District Competition the company received an "Advancing Play" plaque for its performance of William Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream".
April 6, 2015 - Shelbyville Students participating in the Gilmer Special Olympic meet were ( in the back row), Eithan Ponder, Chase Hutto, Jason Casey, and Caleb Alexander. Front row Adrianna Taylor, Ryleigh Lawson and Lindsey Vaughn. Each student medaled in two events.
March 24, 2015 - The State Debate meet was held in Austin, Texas on March 15-16. Shelbyville High School Senior Savannah Talbert and Freshman Ty Fox are State Medalists. Talbert won Bronze Gavel Speaker in Class 2A.
March 23, 2015 - Shelbyville Junior Jeron "J.J." Boykins, was selected as an All-Region performer for Class 2A, Region III by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches. J.J., the unanimous 22-2A Most Valuable Player, avergaged 18.0 points per game and led the Dragons to their first district title in 26 years.
March 9, 2015 - The Shelbyville High School Boys Powerlifters place at Regional Meet held in Elkhart, TX. Kal Metcalf won 1st place, Octavian Burrell took 2nd place, and Corey Bearden placed 4th. Kal Metcalf and Octavian Burrell qualified for the State Meet that will be held in Abilene, TX. Congratulations Dragons! The team is coached by Coach Michael Bill Taylor.
March 9, 2015 - The Shelbyville Girls powerlifting team finished 2nd overall at the Regional Meet held in White Oak. State qualifiers are Cleosha Jeter, Hannah Hall, Savannah Talbert, Tristin Wilburn, Kennedey Parker, Harlie Hagler and Katie Casey.
