May 6, 2015 - The Best of Texas is an online practice contest for Texas high school students. The contest consists of twelve subjects—Accounting, Biology, Calculator, Chemistry, Computer Applications, Computer Science, Current Issues & Events, Literary Criticism, Number Sense, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Spelling & Vocabulary. The contest consists of three rounds of tests in each subject.

March 30, 2015 - Shelbyville High School competed in the District 22-2A Academic UIL Spring Meet held at SFA on March 26, 2015. Shelbyville competitors are District Champions and qualified thirty students in twenty-one events for the Regional Meet. Kylee Windham received the plaque for District 22AA High Point Individual by scoring an impressive seventy-five individual points when she placed first in Ready Writing, Feature Writing, News Writing, Headline Writing and Editorial Writing.
March 13, 2015 - High school students in Shelbyville ISD will compete for top honors during the 2015 District 21A UIL Academic Spring Meet to be held on March 26st at SFA. The UIL Academic District Meets bring students together to compete in over 22 college level academic contests that cover every aspect of classroom curriculum. These students meet rigorous scholastic requirements in order to voluntarily compete in UIL academics.
February 22, 2015 - Shelbyville High School Academic UIL students competed Saturday, February 21, 2015, in the Center Roughrider Spring Invitational UIL Tournament. There were over 400 entries from 16 schools in class A – AAAAA.

February 20, 2015 - The Shelbyville High School Academic UIL team competed at the Chireno High School Invitational UIL Meet on Saturday, February 14th. The students won seven individual 1st place medals and the Literary Criticism Team placed 1st.
