Senior Nutrition Site to Host BBQ Plate Fundraiser

June 23, 2025 - Shelby County Outreach Ministries is pleased to announce it will be hosting a BBQ plate fundraiser this Friday, June 27th at the Senior Nutrition Site. The fundraiser will take place from 11am to 1pm.

For $10 per plate, you will receive a delicious BBQ pulled pork sandwich, chips, a cookie, and a bottle of water. Delivery is available for orders of 5 or more plates. To place an order, please call the Senior Nutrition Site at 936-598-7768.

Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church 11th Anniversary Celebration

June 18, 2025 - Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church is excited to announce its 11th Anniversary celebration this Sunday, June 22nd, and invites the entire community to join them for a special day of worship, fellowship, and fun.

The anniversary festivities will begin with Sunday School at 10:15am and morning service at 11am, featuring an inspiring message and uplifting music. Following the service, attendees are invited to stay for a time of food and fellowship, along with exciting activities, including a slip and slide, perfect for all ages.

SCOM to Close for Juneteenth

June 18, 2025 - Shelby County Outreach Ministries will be closed on Thursday, June 19, 2025, in observance of Juneteenth.

All programs and services will resume normal operations on Friday, June 20, 2025.

SCOM Urgently Seeks Food, Monetary Donations

May 23, 2025 - Shelby County Outreach Ministries is urgently seeking donations of fresh produce from local farmers to sustain its Senior Citizen Feeding Programs. These programs are facing significant challenges due to government cutbacks.

Shelby County Outreach Ministries' Senior Nutrition Site, located at 124 Haley Drive, is accepting donations of fresh produce, canned foods, and monetary donations.

SCOM Announces Portable Building Raffle Drawing, Senior Site Dedication

April 29, 2025 - Shelby County Outreach Ministries will hold the drawing for its Portable Building Raffle this Friday, May 2nd, at 12-noon.

The event will take place at the Senior Nutrition Site located at 124 Haley Drive.

In addition to the raffle drawing, a dedication ceremony for Adam Murehead will also be held at the Senior Site beginning at noon. Food plates will be available for purchase: $6 for seniors and $7 for all others.

Pleasant Grove MBC to Host Drive-Thru Prayer Event

April 15, 2025 - Pleasant Grove MBC will hold a Drive-Thru Prayer event on May 3, 2025, at the NAPA Auto Parts parking lot in Center, Texas from 11am-1pm. This event is open to all community members seeking prayer, support, or simply a moment of reflection. Church members will be available to offer individual prayers for those who drive through.  The power of prayer is real, and if you are burdened or just need some prayer, you are welcome to drive by and see us!
