Hunger Awareness Week

June 11, 2018 - This June, Shelby County Outreach Ministries, Inc. (SCOM) launches their Hunger Awareness Campaign. This campaign is to raise awareness for families and individuals that are dealing with hunger in the community. 

Town Hall Meeting to Address Community Needs

May 7, 2018 - Shelby County Outreach Minitries, Inc. humbly seeks your attendence at a town hall meeting to address community needs on Monday, May 7, 2018. The meeting starts at 6pm at the Senior Nutrition Site in Center, off of Loop 500, 124 Haley Drive, Center, Texas 75935.

Food Donations Needed for Emergency Food Boxes

January 23, 2018 - Shelby County Outreach Ministries, Inc. needs your help. Due to the winter weather conditions we are issuing out more food boxes than normal. We need food items for our emergency food boxes. Here is a list of items needed:

  • 1 lb bags of rice
  • 1 lb bags of beans
  • Ramen noodles
  • Mac and cheese 
  • Spaghetti noodles 
  • Spaghetti sauce 
  • Peanut butter 

To donate food, please drop them by our offices located at 930 Shelbyville Street. For more information please call us at 598-4990.

Shelby County Outreach Ministries Closed Wednesday

January 16, 2018 - (Update: 4:36pm) - Shelby County Outreach Ministries, Inc. will be closed again tomorrow, January 17, 2018, due to the freezing weather. 

January 15, 2018 - Shelby County Outreach Ministries, Inc. will be closed tomorrow, January 16th, 2018, due to bad weather conditions. This will include all programs. 

We will operate at regular hours on Wednesday, January 17th, 2018. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. Be safe and stay warm. God Bless you.  

Shelby County Outreach Ministries Holiday Schedule

December 19, 2017 - Shelby County Outreach Ministries, Inc. will be closing at 1:00 pm on Friday, December 22nd for Christmas. All programs will also be closed on Monday, December 25th and Tuesday, December 26th. We will be opened at regular hours on Wednesday. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you.

SCOM to Close Temporarily Due to Weather

August 29, 2017 - Due to the impending weather heading our way, Shelby County Outreach Ministries, Inc. will close at 1pm tomorrow (Aug. 30) and will be closed all day on Thursday (Aug. 31). Weather permitting, we will resume regular office hours on Friday from 9am to 2pm.
