June 3, 2022 - Notice is hereby given that a Regular meeting of the Governing body of the Shelby County Commissioners’ Court will be held on the 8th day of June, 2022 at 9:30am in the Courtroom of the Shelby County Courthouse at 200 San Augustine Street, Center, Shelby County, Texas to deliberate and consider action on the following items:
1. Approve the minutes of May 4, 2022 Special meeting, May 11, 2022 Regular meeting, May 18, 2022 Special meeting, May 25, 2022 Special meeting, of the Shelby County Commissioner’s Court.
June 8, 2022 – Director Tanya N. Garfield of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Disaster Field Operations Center-West in May announced the opening of five Disaster Loan Outreach Centers, on the dates and times listed below, to meet the needs of businesses and individuals who were affected by severe storms and tornadoes that occurred on March 21, 2022.
April 14, 2022 - If you have any damage to your home or business from the storms on April 12 – 13, 2022, please document and take pictures of the damage. It is a possibility that residents of Shelby County would qualify for individual assistance.
You must report the damages on-line in the i-STAT tool at damage.tdem.texas.gov, click on the April Severe Weather event.
February 3, 2022 - It is with a heavy heart that I write this tribute to Judge Jackie Kirkwood.
Judge Kirkwood carried his history in the way he walked and held his head. His military background and law enforcement experience were in his carriage and under his hat; he was a man of stature, of respect, and discipline.
August 12, 2021 - The rapid increase in reported Covid-19 cases is very alarming to me. With two variants of the coronavirus surging, I urge residents to be cautious, if you are running a fever, feel sick, or have been exposed to the virus please seek medical assistance and isolate yourself.
It is very important not to forget what we learned last year when the pandemic first came to Shelby County. Below is a reminder of the protocol that has helped control the virus in the past.

March 15, 2021 - Shelby County needs your assistance. We have partnered with Connected Nation and the Temple Foundation to gather important information about the need for Broadband services in Shelby County. Responding to this survey will help the entire population of Shelby County.

February 18, 2021 - Shelby County Offices will be closed Friday,February 19, 2021 due to road conditions, power outages, and water outages. We plan on opening for business Monday,February 22, 2021.
