July 17, 2017 - Bottled soft drinks like Coca Cola and Dr Pepper were invented in the late 19th century and it wasn't long until most towns of any size had a bottling works. Timpson was not an exception.
June 23, 2017 - Upon entering the new meeting room of the Timpson Public Library last Wednesday afternoon, Timpson Area Genealogical and Heritage Society members and their guests found five long tables covered with old photographs from the Timpson area. The age of the photos ranged roughly from the late 19th century to the 1960s. It is hard to be more specific because the actual date of the photographs and the people in them is unknown, with identifying them being the purpose of the meeting. June 16, 2017 - “Who is that?” and “Where was that taken?” are the most common questions heard when viewing old photos. The value and significance of an antique photograph is immeasureably increased when the people in it are identified, as well as the place, date, and occasion.
May 22, 2017 - Charles Hughes' Shoe Shop was a Timpson fixture for over half a century. Although he did all the repair work one normally associates with a shoe shop, he also created beautiful hand-tooled western-style belts, purses, Bible covers, wallets, and holsters.
May 13, 2017 - Charles Hughes's shoe shop was a fixture in Timpson for many years. A Timpson native, Mr. Hughes spent most of his life here doing what he loved best: working with leather.
