TPWD Weekly Fishing Reports for June 15

June 16, 2022 - Texas Parks and Wildlife fishing reports are updated each week, usually by Thursday morning. The reports are compiled by an outside contractor who receives the information from bait shops, marinas and fishing guides. Only the local lakes are listed below. Boaters Urged to “Clean, Drain, and Dry” to Stop the Spread of Aquatic Invasive Species

May 25, 2022 - With Memorial Day and summertime quickly approaching, and Texans will be getting out on the water. Now more than ever, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) urges boaters and paddlers who enjoy water recreation this summer to do their part to fight back against aquatic invasive species that threaten Texas lakes.

Managed Lands Deer Program Enrollment Now Open for 2022-23 Season

May 2, 2022 – Enrollment in the Managed Lands Deer Program (MLDP) is now open for the 2022-23 hunting season. Open enrollment for the MLDP Conservation Option runs from April 2 through June 15 this year while the Harvest Option opens May 1 and runs through Sept. 1. Fees are charged for each enrollment option. Enrollments and fee payments can all be made through Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s (TPWD) Land Management Assistance online system.

TPW Magazine Highlights ‘Lights Out Texas’ Initiative for Spring Bird Migration

The Lights Out Texas campaign for spring migration kicks off on Earth Day, April 22 until May 12

April 25, 2022 — The May issue of Texas Parks & Wildlife magazine, available on newsstands now, highlights the Lights Out Texas campaign, which aims to create a safer spring migration for birds through cities across the state. Lights both attract and disorient the birds.

April 7, 2022 - With more people enjoying the outdoors this spring season, you may start to notice more wildlife in your backyard, neighborhood or surrounding areas. Species including birds, deer and snakes are active this time of year and their young can be mistaken as abandoned. Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) experts caution against lending a helping hand.

TPWD Seeks Input on Texas Freshwater Fishing Regulation Proposals for 2022-23

February 23, 2022 – Defining reservoir boundaries and modified harvest regulations on designated waterbodies highlight this year’s list of proposed freshwater fishing regulation changes. The proposed changes also include modified regulations on the Red River Tributaries for prevention of transfer of invasive carp, largemouth bass harvest regulations correction, clarification of striped bass species information, and Sam Rayburn Reservoir county designation.
