June 21, 2018 Nacogdoches - The following students have been named to the Dean's List at Stephen F. Austin State University for the spring semester. To be eligible for this honor, a student must be enrolled in 12 or more semester hours and maintain a grade-point average of 3.5.

June 18, 2018 - William Cummings from Tenaha, Texas earned the honor of being listed on the Spring 2018 Semester Dean's List of Academic Honors for Sam Houston State University.
The students listed on the Dean’s List of Academic Honors at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, are undergraduates who have achieved a grade point average of at least 3.5 out of a perfect 4.0 in all work attempted while enrolled in not less than 12 semester hours.
June 18, 2018 - Center Garden Club wishes to thank both the Farmers State Bank and Shelby Savings Bank for hosting the club’s first horticulture exhibit which celebrated National Garden Week, June 4-8, 2018. Center Garden Club also congratulates Cindy Sanders and Abby Rodriguez, drawing winners who each received a lovely fern generously donated by Walmart.
June 18, 2018 - The Piney Woods Photographic Society held their regular monthly meeting for June with their monthly Challenge featuring Night Photography. The Challenge featured a total of 20 photographs submitted by members for voting and critique . The quality of the pictures was outstanding and showed the talent of all who participated. Category winners are:
June 15, 2018 – Baseball tournament season is upon us and hundreds of players and their families will soon arrive in Center, Texas. The district tournament will be from June 22 through June 25; the State tournaments will be June 29 through July 19.
The tournament program books will be available for all participants as mementos. This is a chance for local businesses to highlight their goods, hours or special deals to tournament guests.
June 15, 2018 (Entry Form) - Shelby County watermelon growers are invited to bring their largest watermelon to the 29th Annual East Texas What-A-Melon Festival on the downtown Center square. The festival is July 12th, 13th, and 14th!
