May 10, 2018 - Esther Small of Logansport, formerly of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, recently celebrated her 100th birthday at the Joaquin Senior Center, where she is, of course, the oldest person. Approximately 60 people were in attendance, including the former mayor of Logansport, Catherine Freeman, and the current mayor of Joaquin, Pat Gray (second picture). Her actual birthday was May 8.
May 9, 2018 - The Fannie Brown Booth Library and the members of the Friends of the Library officers would like to thank the community for its generous support of the Library Book Sale held at the end of April. The success of the book sale was due to the work of all involved. This includes the community members who purchased books, volunteers who worked, before, after and at the sale, and those who gave special monetary donations and book donations.
May 9, 2018 - Anissa Jackson, with the Panola Nursing program, was the guest speaker for the combined meeting of Delta Gamma and Epsilon Iota in April. Members toured the simulation lab and learned about the extensive training presented at Panola.
