February 22, 2015 - The Pineywoods Photographic Society (PWPS) held their monthly meeting this past Saturday, with the critique competition being "REDS." There was a great workshop co-hosted by Janet Hughes and Dennis Harris on "Using Flash". This was enjoyed by all in attendance considering the extreme discussions that took place. Thank you Janet and Dennis.

February 17, 2015 - The Golden Harvest Ministries Club February meeting was held Monday the 16th in the Fellowship Hall of the First Baptist Church . Joe Anderson brought the meeting to order and noted that we had good attendance in spite of the cold, rainy weather. He called on Danny Brown to lead the opening prayer. Harold Hanson led us as we sang “I Stand Amazed” and “Jesus loves me.” Alice West played the piano as we sang.
February 20, 2015 - Shelby Savings Bank donated a cooler with fishing gear and SSB caps and coozies to be used as a prize in the 2015 Logansport Sand Bass Tournament.
February 19, 2015 - Woodmen of the World presented a donation for Agriculture Education Day on Tuesday, February 17, 2015.
The event will be held at the Shelby County Sheriff's Posse Rodeo Arena on May 1, 2015 and will have a variety of activities for students to learn from.
Venora McSwain, Woodmen of the World Representative, is pictured at left with Will Lucas, Chair Committee of Agriculture Education Day, as she presented a $500 check on behalf of Woodmen of the World for the event.
February 18, 2015 - Source: The Episcopal Diocese of Texas - Jean Diebolt received the Bishop’s Award for Ministry at the recent Diocesan Council in The Woodlands. Bishop C. Andrew Doyle praised her dedication and continuing efforts to improve access to health care for her East Texas community. “Jean’s ability to bring people together for the benefit of her patients has set an example for all of us,” he said. “She and her team do exemplary ministry and we are grateful for the transformation of lives that all their efforts have brought about.”
February 18, 2015 - Amy Permenter, a senior at Shelbyville High School, was crowned Saturday, February 14th as the new Miss Lufkin. She is the 18-year-old daughter of Wesley and Lynette Permenter of Huxley, Texas.
