Annual Tax-Free Weekend for School Shopping Starts August 5

August 5, 2022 - The Comptroller encourages all taxpayers to support Texas businesses while saving money on tax-free purchases of most clothing, footwear, school supplies and backpacks (sold for less than $100) during the annual Tax-Free weekend. Qualifying items can be purchased tax free from a Texas store or from an online or catalog seller doing business in Texas.

Shelby County Museum Closes Wednesday Due to Power Outage

July 20, 2022 - The Shelby County Museum is closed today due to a power outage. The museum will reopen tomorrow, July 21st at 1pm. The current exhibit is a pictorial history of Shelby County which just displayed on Thursday, July 14. Be sure to stop by 230 Pecan Street in Center weekdays, Monday through Friday, between 1pm and 4pm to view the wonder photos.
