March 23, 2017 - Many times the pace of the legislative session can get a little hectic. I often tell my staff that session is more like a marathon than a sprint. We well on our way through our marathon, as we have just passed the 70th day, which is the half-way point of the session.

Disabled Veterans May Qualify to Have Some or All of Their Property Taxes Waived

March 22, 2017 - Veterans with a service connected disability are encouraged to file an exemption application form to have their property taxes lowered. Some veterans may even qualify for a 100 percent exemption of their taxes.

Property Taxes On Farms, Ranches Could Be Reduced With Productivity Appraisal

March 22, 2017 - Texas farmers and ranchers can be granted property tax relief on their land. They may apply to the Shelby County Appraisal District for agricultural productivity appraisal and for a lower appraisal of their land based on how much they produce, versus what their land would sell for on the open market.

Abundant Love Ministries Celebrates 9th Annual Church Anniversary

March 22, 2017 - Pastor Marlin Cloudy, Sr., and the Abundant Love Ministries family, will celebrate their 9th Annual Church Anniversary, Sunday, March 26, 2017 at 3:00 pm. Bishop Howard Cloudy, 3rd Episcopal Triumph, will be our guest speaker.

Sunday school will be conducted as normal, at 10:30 am. Regular noonday services are canceled. Everyone is welcomed and invited to celebrate with us!
