This Week at The Patricia Huffman Smith NASA Museum

February 24, 2016 - We had some very special guest tour the museum this week.  The First Baptist Church of Hemphill pre-school students stop by for a tour of the museum.  They enjoyed playing the games in the classroom and getting to see the shuttle replica.  Each student received an 8x10 poster of the seven astronauts that was on Mission STS-107, a JSC Roundup magazine and pictures to color.  

UT Tyler Fall 2015 President’s Honor Roll - Local and Surrounding Areas

February 24, 2016 - The University of Texas at Tyler has named 499 students to the President’s Honor Roll for the 2015 fall semester, President Rodney H. Mabry announced. In order to qualify for the President’s Honor Roll at UT Tyler, a student must have completed, in one semester, 12 or more semester hours of undergraduate college-level credit with a grade of “A” in all courses. To be considered for such recognition in any semester, a student must qualify as a matriculated student pursuing a first bachelor’s degree.

UT Tyler Fall 2015 Dean’s List - Local and Surrounding Areas

February 24, 2016 - The University of Texas at Tyler has named 428 students, including 37 pharmacy students, to the Dean’s List for the 2015 fall semester, President Rodney H. Mabry announced. In order to qualify for the university Dean’s List, a student must have completed 12 or more semester hours of undergraduate college-level credit in the awarding semester with a grade point average of at least 3.75. Students named to the President’s Honor Roll are not named to the Dean’s List.

USDA Awards Loans to Boost Rural Economic Development in Five States

February 24, 2016  – As part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) ongoing efforts to boost opportunity in rural communities, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack today awarded six low-interest loans to local governments and community organizations that will spur rural economic development in five states. Secretary Vilsack announced the awards at the Legislative Conference of the National Association of Counties during a seminar with the White House Rural Council.
