January 8, 2016 - Shelbyville ISD will hold a school trustee election on May 7, 2016. The filing period for an application to be placed on the ballot begins January 20, 2016, and ends February 19, 2016.

An application may be filed at the Shelbyville ISD Administration Office located at 343 FM 417W, Shelbyville, between the hours of 7:45 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. or mailed to Shelbyville ISD, P. O. Box 325, Shelbyville, TX 75973.

January 7, 2016 - Members of the Center Women’s Reading Club met on November 19, 2015 at the lovely home of Barbara Prince. President Janene Walker presided.

January 6, 2015 - U.S. Forest Service fire personnel will soon begin controlled burns in the national forests and will continue the burns during the next few months.

Despite recent rainfall, the forest is still recovering from the summer drought and controlled burning dramatically reduces the chances of a wildfire spreading out of control.

January 5, 2016 - My name is Ricky Allen, and I would like to announce my candidacy for Sheriff in the Republican primary of Shelby County.

I grew up and currently reside in Timpson, Texas and attended Timpson ISD from first grade through graduation. After I graduated in 1971, I attended Panola College for two years. I’m the son of L.G. and Billie Joy Allen of Timpson. I’m married to Brenda Allen and have three children, Michael, Katie, and Jacob. I also have six grandchildren.
