June 13, 2024 - Good Morning! It's Thursday, June 13.

As I write this, 50 of our teenagers are in the middle of youth camp. And 30 of our children leave for their camp this Saturday. Exciting times. Lots of prayers are going up right now, asking God to touch young hearts. To Him be the glory for all that He is doing, and for all He will do.

On June 12, 1942, a young girl turned thirteen. One of her birthday gifts was a small book with a lock on the front - a diary. TEA Awards Over $290 Million as Part of The Teacher Incentive Allotment

June 11, 2024 – The Texas Education Agency (TEA) today announced over $290 million in Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) funds has been awarded for nearly 25,000 designated Texas teachers during the 2023-24 school year. These educators make up some of Texas’ best, and they work to improve student growth and success in their classrooms.

June 11, 2024 - Good Morning! It's Tuesday, June 11.

On a beautiful spring day in April of 1995, a man parked a van in front of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. It was exactly two years after the FBI siege at Waco. The van was packed with 5000 pounds of explosives, and at exactly 9:02 a timer clock stopped ticking. 660 people were injured, another 168 were killed - 19 of them were children in the day care. It remains the single deadliest act of domestic terrorism in U.S. history. 

Forest Service Waives Day-use Fees for National Get Outdoors Day

June 7, 2024 — On Saturday, June 8, in honor of National Get Outdoors Day, the National Forests and Grasslands in Texas will waive day-use fees.

“National Get Outdoors Day is a perfect opportunity to connect with nature and enjoy the physical and mental health benefits of outdoor activities," said Kimpton Cooper, Forest Supervisor, National Forests and Grasslands in Texas. "Whether it's hiking, biking, fishing, or simply enjoying a picnic, we hope everyone takes the time to appreciate the beauty and tranquility of the nature around you.”
