April 5, 2019 - Each nine weeks, CMS teachers are asked to nominate exceptional students possessing all or most of these qualities: A leader, always prepared for class, strives to make good grades, a hard worker, model student, kind and considerate of others, helpful to teachers and peers, punctual, strives to be a better student, exemplifies the qualities of #giveme5. Following are the students chosen for the third 9 weeks period as Students Who Make A Difference, along with the teachers nominating them.
April 4, 2019 - Center Tennis rules the district and takes home the overall boys and girls District 20 Title.
The first and second place finishers will advance to the Regional Tournament held at Bryan High School on April 17-18.
The boys and girls Singles and Doubles brackets were completed and the Mixed Doubles bracket will have one match remaining to determine the 2nd and 3rd place teams.
April 4, 2019 (Registration Form) - The Center Lady Riders are hosting Summer Basketball Camp from May 27th through May 30th. The Summer Basketball Camp will cover fundamentals, character training, success in competition, mental toughness, and how to think the game. All lady athletes will receive a camp t-shirt so please indicate size on the signup form when you register.
April 3, 2019 - The Center Middle School 7th grade girls track team earned District Runner Up and had 7 athletes win District Champion titles at the 20-4A District Meet held April 1, 2019.
April 2, 2019 - Center played host to a number of area schools on March 28 to prepare for their upcoming District tournament. The results are as follows:
Girls Doubles: (16 teams from 9 different schools)
1st - Katie Nehring / Maddie Russell (Center)
2nd - Carswell / Waller (Hudson)
3rd - Mallory Fausett / Caitlyn Basham (Center)
4th - Autumn Hughes / Cecily Gibson (Center JV)
Consolation - Morgan Porter / Alyssa White (Center JV)
March 28, 2019 - The Center FFA horse judging team will compete at the area competition on April 16th at Sam Houston State University following a successful invitational competition.
The team competed yesterday at the SFASU CDE invitational. Kennedy Bush was the overall high point individual out of 362 contestants and won her first belt buckle.
The team placed 11th overall out of 95 teams, were first among their district out of 11 teams, and were 5th among their area out of 35 teams.
