October 31, 2025 - Due to a break in the main line the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has required San Augustine Rural Public Water System PWS #2030007 to notify ALL customers on St Hwy 96 N, FM 711 and CR 288 to boil their water prior to consumption (eg., washing hands / face, brushing teeth, drinking, etc). Children, Seniors and Persons with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria, and all customers should follow these directions.
October 29, 2025 - The water on N.E.W. WSC no longer requires boiling.
On October 16, 2025, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the N.E.W. Water Supply, #2030034, to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

October 22, 2025 - On October 20, 2025 the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the City of Timpson public water system, TX2100003 to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals, or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
October 3, 2025 - A Low Cost Spay/Neuter and Pet Wellness Clinic is held in Center every fourth Saturday from 10-3p. The next clinics in Center will take place Saturday October 25 and Saturday November 22 at Goodwill Shopping Center in Center, Texas located at 1155 Tenaha Street. We offer dog/cat vaccines, heartworm tests/prevention, flea/tick prevention, microchips, and nail trims.
October 20, 2025 - This past weekend, five fine marching bands from Shelby County proudly represented our schools at the University Interscholastic League Region 21 Marching Band Contest in Longview, Texas. Each band brought their energy, discipline, and hard-earned preparation to the field.
