On September 15, 2025, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the N.E.W. Water Supply, #2030034, to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

September 8, 2025 - The City of Joaquin of Shelby County, Texas plans to apply for Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funding from the Texas General Land Office (GLO) related to the 2024 Disasters included the Texas Severe Storms, Straight-line Winds, Tornadoes, and Flooding (DR-4781) and Hurricane Beryl (DR-4798) and is soliciting proposals to provide application, administration and/or planning services for CDBG-DR contract(s), if awarded.
