April 30, 2021 - U.S. Highway 59 at the intersection with U.S. Highway 84 was the scene of a major two-vehicle crash in Timpson on Monday, April 26, 2021 at 5:50pm.
April 29, 2021 - The National Weather Service, Shreveport, LA, issued a special weather statement at 11:15pm CDT, Thursday, April 29, 2021. The significant weather advisory is for Northeastern Nacogdoches, Shelby, and Northwestern San Augustine Counties until midnight.
At 11:15pm CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Martinsville, or 11 miles east of Nacogdoches, moving northeast at 45 mph.
Penny size hail and winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with this storm.
April 28, 2021 – Texas A&M Forest Service law enforcement investigators arrested Jacob Twomey of Panola County on Monday, April 26, on a grand jury indictment. Twomey was charged with Timber Purchase as Trustee with Intent to Defraud an amount greater than $500, but less than $20,000 – a state jail felony.

April 27, 2021 - The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the Sand Hills public water system, PWS 2100013, to issue a Boil Water Notice on April 22nd, 2021 to inform customers, individuals, oremployees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
