November 22, 2016 - A high speed chase starting in Center and involving several law enforcement agencies has ended with a crash in Joaquin on Tuesday, November 22, 2016.
(Update) November 21, 2016 - It is no longer necessary for customers on Paxton Water that were without water on HWY 84 on November 16, 2016 to boil their water.
November 16, 2016 - Due to line break, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has required our water System, Paxton Water, to notify customers of the need to boil their water prior to consumption. This is for the customers that were out of water on November 16, 2016 on HWY 84 east of the water plant and surrounding county roads.
November 21, 2016 - The intersection of Tenaha and Church Streets in Center was the scene of an incident involving a Center ISD School bus and a pickup truck on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 5:15pm.
November 21, 2016 - The Shelby County Commissioners approved canvassing the votes from the recent November 8 election during their Monday, November 21, 2016 meeting and discussed an alternate method of indigent pharmaceutical management.
Allison Harbison, Shelby County Judge, stated there are 15,130 registered voters and 9,137 votes were cast.
A motion carried to accept the results and canvass the votes.
November 19, 2016 - Emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene of a single-vehicle rollover crash about 600 feet west of the Joaquin square on U.S. Highway 84 Friday, November 18, 2016.
November 18, 2016 - The water on San Augustine Rural WSC no longer requires boiling as of November 18th. On November 16th, we issued a Boil Water Notice due to a major leak in the City of San Augustine's Water Main. This included all customers on San Augustine Rural Water, and was issued for safety precautions. The problem has been corrected and we've tested the water.
