March 1, 2019 Austin – Attorney General Ken Paxton today issued a consumer alert regarding persons alleging to be priests or pastors texting members of the church and asking them to buy gift cards for a false charitable cause.
Texans have received deceptive texts from people pretending to be pastors, then requesting that they purchase a gift card and send them the information to access that card. The scammers claim these gift cards are needed for some charitable reason, but insist they cannot pick up a gift card themselves and the purchaser will be reimbursed.
February 26, 2019 - (Update): We are monitoring the weather for the memorial this evening. We plan to have the memorial at the cafeteria parking lot, but if the weather does not cooperate at 6pm, we will have to move to the gym.
Center Middle School will have a memorial and balloon release for Lexi Jones following Parent Night conferences on Tuesday, February 26. The memorial will be in the cafeteria parking lot at the middle school.
Parent Night ends at 6 p.m. Friends and family are invited to attend.

February 12, 2019 - Center ISD extends scheduled Friday holiday to allow for a deep cleaning due to noticed escalation of illnesses with students and faculty. School is out Friday, February 15th through Tuesday, February 19th. Students will return on Wednesday, February 20th.
Extracurricular activities will continue as scheduled and a makeup day is not necessary.
January 31, 2019 - The water on San Augustine Rural WSC no longer requires boiling.
On January 28, 2019, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the San Augustine Rural Public Water System, #2030007, to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
January 30, 2019 - Hope Community Medicine would like to let the public know that if you or someone you know receive a letter in the mail from "Project Hope" with what is titled "Center 2019 Annual Fund Drive" it is not the local Hope Community Medicine.
January 4, 2019 Austin – Attorney General Ken Paxton today warned Texans to beware of calls from scam artists pretending to be with the Social Security Administration (SSA) and attempting to fool unsuspecting people into giving them their Social Security number and money.
