August 9, 2018 - As one walks through this world living out his journey through life one finds many times when he feels abandoned by all others, when one feels abandoned and alone in the cold cruel world, as tiny mouse trapped in a land of giant predators looking to devour him.

I have an answer for your fears, for I know one who will never abandon you to those who would devour your soul.

All one must do for this saving grace is to cry out in reverence to the one who controls all things of this world and this universe.

Preserve me, O God, for in you I take refuge. I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; I have no good apart from you.” (Psalm 16:1-2)

It is Almighty God that one must turn to for comfort, for protection from the storms of life, he and he alone has the power to protect and the steadfast love not to abandon one when the going gets tough and the storm clouds gather.

Take heed of the words of advice of the good king Solomon; “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.” (Proverbs 3:5-7)

This should be one’s number one on his list of things to live by; for it is by trusting in the Lord, by following his will and his wishes for us each day that we are able to navigate through the mine fields of life on earth as we work our way to that point when we are to be lifted from this world and taken by the Lord Jesus to the heavenly home that he is preparing for all who believe and follow him today. Oh what a glorious day that will be when one is face to face with the Lord forever… How blessed are those who can say; “The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup; you hold my lot. The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance.” (Psalm 16:6)

How blessed are those who know where to place their trust, who know where their treasures are being gathered and held for them.

Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroy and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matt. 6:19-21)

Cry out to the Lord for salvation for only through the Lord Jesus can one enter the kingdom of God, cry out in reverence that he might save your soul from the fires of hell. Ask him for forgiveness of your sins and he will forgive you today and forever. Trust in him and know the peace and joy he provides to all who believe in him as Lord.

I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure.” (Psalm 16:8-9)

You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” (Psalm 16:11)

Call upon the Lord today for salvation; may you know the many blessings of our Lord this day and forevermore…

July 31, 2018 - God created this universe and the people within it. He gives life to all things which have life and makes all to grow and prosper in him.

Just as God dealt favorably with the ancient Israelites so too will he deal favorably with us of today. If only we will allow him to do so.

“Lord you were favorable to your land, you restored the fortunes of Jacob. You forgave the iniquity of your people, you covered all their sin. you withdrew all your wrath; you turned from your hot anger.” (Psalm 85:1-3)

Yes, time after time as the people of Israel turned away from God, turning to idols and gods of wood and gold, God forgave their wicked acts and works of the devil.

With the death of Jesus on the cross he is now able to forgive the sins of all mankind, Jew and Gentile alike. Making justice and grace available to all who will simply ask for it.

Jesus took all the anger and wrath of God upon himself on that cross and paid through his suffering the price of salvation for all people.

Allowing us to say today with complete confidence; “Restore us again, O God of our salvation, and put away your indignation toward us!” (Psalm 85:4)

“Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you? (Psalm 85:6)

We can come humbly before God each day in prayer to him; seeking his face, his fellowship and his forgiveness for our unjust and offensive disobedience to him. As with the Israelites of old, he has unparalleled patience showing us his grace and mercy even though we could never earn either grace nor mercy on our own, only through the gift of Jesus’ love can we receive it.

We call out to him, asking for him to once again show us mercy when we pray; “Show us your steadfast love, O Lord, and grant us your salvation.” (Psalm 85:7)

We can have all confidence that God will grant us salvation because of what he tells us when he says; “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)

God shows no preference for Jew or Gentile, offering salvation for all who will follow his directions for salvation.

But, salvation does require that one confesses with his mouth and believes in his heart; “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)

No matter the earthly status of any man or woman, all have fallen short of God’s glory and must come humbly before him, asking for salvation through the blood of Jesus, shed on the cross of Calvary. His salvation awaits all who will receive it.

“Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him, that glory may dwell in our land.” (Psalm 85:9)

Yes, salvation awaits all who will ask and receive for; “Faithfulness springs up from the ground, and righteousness looks down from the sky.” (Psalm 85:11) Salvation depends on our faithfulness as God looks down on us, waiting for our call to him.

“Yes, the Lord will give what is good, and our land will yield its increase. Righteousness will go before him and make his footsteps a way.” (Psalm 85:12-13)

Trust in the Lord and honor him and all things will be provided to you…
