Congratulations

Audie Lawson Vickers is the Hemphill Class of 2025 Valedictorian: Lawson is the son of Vance and Johanna Vickers and the grandson of the late Jimmy and Martha Vickers of Milam and Bill and Gwen Cravey of Center. He is an active and integral part of The Refuge where he plays drums serves on the worship team. Lawson is a proud six year member of Hemphill’s award-winning Little Green Band. He has fond memories of all his years playing trumpet, but earning bronze at State his senior year and Sweepstakes have made his senior year one to remember. He also has enjoyed robotics and FFA where he traveled to various shows in Texas, Earning a place on the awards platform at the Houston LiveStock Show and Rodeo his junior year is definitely a stand out moment. Lawson also joined theater in middle school and was a stand out for  One Act Play where he earned multiple acting awards for the characters he portrayed. Vickers has been accepted to Texas A&M for the fall and will be entering the Aggie College of Engineering. His advice comes in the form of his favorite scripture, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”  Philippians 4:6-7 (Click here to share this announcement)


Hearken, dear friends and esteemed colleagues, It is with great joy and pride that I announce the splendid achievement of my beloved wife of 36 years, Lisa Miller, who hath successfully attained her Doctor of Nursing Practice. This accomplishment stands as a testament to her unwavering dedication, tireless effort, and profound commitment to the noble art of healing. In the spirit of enlightenment, let us reflect upon the words once penned by Benjamin Franklin: "An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest." Indeed, her pursuit of knowledge has not only enriched her own life but shall also serve to elevate the standards of care within our community.
