Lillie E. Chadwick, 90, of Timpson, Texas, passed away on March 16, 2019 in Martinsville, Texas. She was born on July 31, 1928 in Caledonia to James Richard Keating and Odessa Burks Keating.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Mangum Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Carroll Jones officiating. Interment will follow at White Rock Cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, March 18, 2019 at Mangum Funeral Home.
Lillie grew up in the County Line community. Shortly after high school, she married Lewis Smith and the two remained faithfully by one another’s side until Lewis’ passing. Later in life, Lillie met Walter Chadwick and the two shared a special bond that led to marriage and the joining of their families. Lillie and Walter celebrated many wonderful years together until his passing. She was an extremely talented seamstress and could make just about anything. Lillie loved to sew, quilt and crochet. She also found peace and pleasure working in her garden, cooking and playing dominoes. She was a member of Corinth Missionary Baptist Church.

Ira (Sam) Edgar Jackson, age 84, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2019 in the Nacogdoches Medical Center after a brief illness.
He was born on May 12, 1934 in Center, TX to Clara Rushing and O.C. Jackson. He was the oldest of four children and was preceded in death by both parents and two younger brothers, Weldon (Winkie) McKeggler and Leon Allen.
Sam grew up in Center, TX and enlisted in the United States Army immediately after high school. While in the armed forces, he served during the Korean Conflict. After his military service ended, he returned home and worked in the construction industry with Ihlo Construction for several years. He then went to work at Center Independent School District as a custodian engineer where he later retired after 21 years of faithful service.
Sam will be remembered for his love of the game of dominoes. He was a true competitor on the domino table.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 11:00 am at Abundant Love Ministries, 1426 Shelbyville Street with Pastor Marlin Cloudy, Sr. officiating.

A celebration of life for Elizabeth Grimes Biggers, 90, of Nacogdoches, Texas was held Thursday, March 14, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel in Nacogdoches with Pastor Emeritus Dr. Allen Reed officiating. Interment followed at Fairview Cemetery. The family welcomed friends and loved ones from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at Cason Monk-Metcalf.
Elizabeth was born on April 18, 1928, at the family home on Upper Melrose Road in Nacogdoches, Texas to McNeil Grimes Sr. and Lillie Mae Sisco Grimes. She lived in Nacogdoches most of her life. She passed away March 10, 2019, in Nacogdoches surrounded by family.
Elizabeth was Valedictorian of her graduating class from Nacogdoches High School and Salutatorian from Stephen F. Austin State University. She later earned a Master’s in Education from SFASU. Early on she worked as a secretary, teacher and librarian at various schools. However, most of her career was spent at SFA, retiring in 1991 after twenty-five years as a librarian.
She married Ben M. Wallace in 1950, and he is the father of her three children. She was a single mother from 1968 until she married Earl Biggers in 1986. She has been a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Nacogdoches, for many years where she was especially active in the SOS Sunday School class and the Sunshine Flower Ministry. She was a longtime volunteer in the emergency room at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital. She loved her family and friends dearly and always cherished time spent with them.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Susan Castille and husband Sonny of Mena, Arkansas; daughter, Sharon Touchette and husband Henry and son, Stephen Wallace and wife Kathy, all of Nacogdoches; and stepdaughter, Mickey Wulf and husband Fred of Center, Texas. She is also survived by her four granddaughters: Jade Harrell and husband Wade, Paige Wallace, Whitney Cleveland, and Caitlin Lawrence; and two step-grandsons, Deuce and Ben Wulf; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, McNeil Grimes Jr.; both husbands; and step-son, Ken Biggers.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Gary Rogerson, Bill Fisk, Cason Adams, David Stabinsky, Wade Harrell, and Nicholas Fisk. Honorary pallbearers will be Odell Garner and Waymon Garner.
The family would also like to thank her special care givers Ruthie, Rylie, Tina, Beverly, Tonie and all of the staff at Willowbrook Rehab.

Funeral services for Bro. M. D. Lamon, 87, of Center will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, March 17, 2019 at the First Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ in the new building. Bro. Richard Goodwin, Sr., Richard Goodwin and Garfield D. Lamon will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park.
Bro. Lamon died Wednesday, March 13, 2019, after a short illness.
He was born August 5, 1931 in Linden, TX to John Lamon and Betty Richardson Lamon.
Seventy-three years ago, Bro. Lamon gave his life to the Lord. He was filled with God’s Holy Spirit and baptized in the name of Jesus. Since that day, Bro. Lamon lived his life to spread the love of Jesus throughout East Texas. On July 3, 1948, Bro. Lamon married the love of his life, Hester Arlene Pinkston.
At the age of 18, Bro. Lamon was ordained to preach the gospel in the state of Texas. After his ordination, Bro. and Sister Lamon evangelized for one year and felt God’s call to pastor. He pastored churches in Lufkin, TX, Huntington, TX, San Augustine County, TX, Aiken, TX and Center, TX.
At 87 years of age, Bro. Lamon was very active in ministry. He taught Wednesday evening Bible study each week and spoke words of wisdom and encouragement in every service. He pastored the First Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ for 52 years and 9 months.
During the past two years, Bro. Lamon supervised the construction project for a new church campus. His dream was to have the new building completed debt-free.
For two years, Bro. Lamon served as President of the Shelby County Outreach Senior Citizens Center. He also volunteered there about 20 hours per week. He enjoyed having lunch with his friends; but most of all, he enjoyed praying for their needs. Bro. Lamon was well-known in Shelby County for his gentle spirit and wisdom.
Bro. Lamon was preceded in death by his wife, Hester Pinkston Lamon, son, Aubrey Lamon, Sr., Daughter-in-heart, Rilda Lamon, his parents, brothers, Edward Lamon and Ed Lamon, sisters Lorene King, Mae Standley, Alene Hobbs and Mary Lou Snodgrass.
Bro. Lamon is survived by daughter and son-in-heart, Richard and Shirley Goodwin, sons Lester Donald Lamon of Magnolia, OH and Garfield Dee Lamon of Woodville, TX. He is also survived by grandchildren, Richard and Lisa Goodwin of Louisville, KY, Lori Goodwin of Dallas, TX, Alesha and Jeff Hamm of Edwards, MS, Donna and Paris Stokes of Vicksburg, MS, Aubrey and Kayla Lamon, II of Center, TX, Dee Ann and Cody Armstrong of Woodville, TX, Garfield Lamon of Kirbyville, TX, and Patrick Lamon of Bixby, OK. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren. He is survived by one brother, Harvey Lamon of Lufkin, TX.
Pallbearers are men of the First Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ.

Clifford Wayne Hand, 91, of Shelbyville, Texas, passed away on March 14, 2019 in Center, Texas. He was born on September 25, 1927 in Amarillo, Texas to W.B. Hand and Montalee Longacre Hand.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 18, 2019 at Mangum Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Rusty Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Strong Cemetery in Shelbyville, Texas.

Clifford grew up in Amarillo, and after high school he enlisted in the United States Air Force. While in the armed forces, Clifford served in World War II. After returning home, he married the love of his life, Judy in 1949, and the two spent a wonderful 60 years together before her passing. Clifford went to work for the United State Postal Service where he remained for 36 years before retiring. During his tenure with the USPS, he also worked with Continental Trailways for 25 years.
Clifford thoroughly enjoyed the company of others. He was a genuine “people person” who found great pleasure in conversation and laughter. He also liked to spend time fishing, playing dominoes and playing bingo. He was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church in Huxley and was an integral part of adding on the new addition to the church.
Clifford is survived by his sons, Rocky Hand and wife, Patricia, Stanley Hand and wife, Laneva and Richard Hand; and special friend, Marguerite Kuykendall.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judy and his parents, W.B. and Montalee Hand.

Minnie LaPearl Dean Jefferson was born March 20, 1945 and passed from this life on March 12, 2019, one week shy of her 74th birthday. Pearl was born at the family home in Shelby County, Texas to Emmitt Ambrose and Ima Estell (Cummings) Dean. As the baby of the family she was loved and spoiled by her older siblings, Lois, JE and Clint.
Pearl attended Strong School and graduated from Joaquin High School. 1963 was a big year for Pearl as she turned 18, married, graduated from high school and flew to Spain to join her new husband, Garry Jefferson. Pearl had never been out of the state of Texas, but happily took on the challenge of flying across the ocean to a new country all by herself! Garry and Pearl spent 2 years in Seville, Spain before returning to Bergstrom Air Force Base in Austin, Texas. In 1965 their daughter Lori Lynn was born. She was followed by brothers Michael Jason in 1973 and Garry Keith in 1974.
As an Air Force wife, Pearl lived in Spain, Texas, Louisiana, Germany and Montana. Moving every few years was not a chore for Pearl. One of her first tasks in a new house was the hanging of curtains in the windows. Pearl could not bear the sight of windows covered with a sheet or blanket and always believed a house became a home when the new curtains went up. In fact, as an accomplished seamstress, each house quickly had tailor-made brand new curtains for the windows.
Air Force retirement brought the family back to Bossier City, Louisiana in 1980 and Pearl would remain in her adopted hometown until her passing. During this time Pearl worked as an administrative assistant in the Housing Office at Barksdale Air Force Base. She was a civilian employee for the Department of Defense for 28 years. Pearl very much enjoyed her job at the Housing Office as it allowed her meet and greet most of the incoming personnel to the base. From brand new Airmen to seasoned Colonels, everyone enjoyed and appreciated Miss Pearl’s welcoming smile and helpful attitude. Near and dear to Pearl’s heart were the young families arriving at Barksdale. Miss Pearl was known to frequent garage sales and flea markets to keep a stock of high chairs, bassinets and cribs for those young families just starting out. She wanted to make sure each family had all they needed for their little ones. After many years of dedicated service, Pearl retired from Civil Service in 2008.
Pearl’s greatest joy and accomplishment in life was her children and grandchildren. She loved them deeply and they knew she would do anything for them. Pearl often remarked that she loved her children, but being a grandmother was the best! She adored her grandchildren, Steven and Jonathan Miklos, and Logan and Morgan Jefferson.
Pearl was a long time member of Bellaire Baptist Church and was active in the Encouragers Sunday School Class. Pearl loved Jesus and knew when she left her Earthly home she was joining her Lord in heaven.

Graveside services will be at 11am on Monday, March 18, 2019 at Strong Cemetery, Shelbyville, TX. Presiding over the graveside will be Bro. Billy Windham. Visitation will be at the church from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Lena Mae (Rudd) Cormier, 89, of Lumberton, Texas, passed away Monday, March 11, 2019, at a Beaumont hospital.
A native and former resident of Shelby County, Lena was born June 4, 1929, in Center to parents Elmer and Nora Rudd. She was a faithful Christian and had been active in churches in the communities she had resided. Her most recent membership was with Woodrow Baptist Church of Silsbee.
Her survivors include a son, Ronnie Cormier and wife Patricia of Baytown; a daughter, Theresa Bridges and husband Tommy of Lumberton; a brother, Elmer Ray Rudd of Gillis, Louisiana; a sister, Geraldine Durso of Silsbee; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Rene Joseph Cormier; her parents, Elmer and Nora Rudd; as well as three sisters, Faye, Merle, and Pearl.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 15, 2019, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Farmer Funeral Home, located at 415 N. Fourth Street in Silsbee.
Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2019, at Farmer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Paul Scott officiating. Interment will follow at R.S. Farmer Memorial Cemetery, located in Silsbee.

Eddie (Edgar) Leroy Langford, Jr., passed away suddenly on March 12, 2019. Eddie was born on March 15, 1961, in Houston, Texas to Ed (Edgar) and Oleta Langford. He was a member of the 1979 graduating class of Conroe High School.
In 1980 he married Lori Holt and they had one son, Beau (Roland) Langford. In 2003 he married Mitzi McClure. Eddie is preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Oleta and by his sister, Anita.

After graduating high school, Eddie continued to work with his dad in construction work. He later started his own business, Langford Construction, where he continued to work until his illness prevented him from doing so. That did not stop him from teaching others. He was always willing to explain to you how “to do” the work. He was always helping someone start or complete a project. He was his family “go to person” for all their needs. If he did not know how to do it, he would go to you tube to see how to repair it.
Eddie loved to hunt, fish, to spend time with his son and granddaughters, and explore his surroundings. With the growth of Montgomery County he would say there was always a new road to explore.
Eddie will be greatly missed by his family. He will be laid to rest on March 19, 2019, at the family cemetery in Shelbyville, Texas.

Glenda Rae Brittain, 79, of Timpson, Texas, passed away on March 11, 2019 in Timpson. She was born on December 25, 1939 in Timpson to Alvin Cecil Watson and Etoula Eugene Moore Watson. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Blair Cemetery in Timpson with Bro. Orval Miller officiating. A visitation will be held prior to service time from 10:00am to 11:30am on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Taylor Funeral Home.
Glenda was born and raised in Timpson and graduated from Timpson High School in 1957. She married the love of her life, Kenneth Brittain on October 31, 1958, and the two built a wonderful life together until Kenneth’s passing. Glenda was an extremely crafty woman and enjoyed making some of the neatest things. She also had a great interest in genealogy and had done a lot of research about her family’s lineage.
Family was of the utmost importance to Glenda, and it showed in the countless hours she spent supporting her grandkids at all of their sporting events and school functions. She treasured every moment surrounded by her children and grandchildren. When together, Glenda’s family shared love and laughter that will be wonderful memories for years to come.

Connie Jean Walker Straus, 74, passed away March 9, 2019. Connie was born April 28, 1944.

Funeral services for Frances Pearl Armstrong Hanson, 95, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, March 10, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Mardy Guidry officiating. Graveside services will be held at 5:00 p.m. at Jackson Cemetery in Shelby County.
Mrs. Hanson was born January 25, 1924 in Douglass, Texas to the late Della (Smith) and Henry V. Armstrong, and died Friday, March 8, 2019 in a local nursing home.
Formerly of Center, Mrs. Hanson had resided in Lufkin for 43 years. She worked in the cafeteria at Hudson ISD for 15 years and had served as a Cub Scout Leader and Den Mother. Mrs. Hanson was fondly referred to as a dinosaur; they don’t make them like her anymore. She was very energetic, dressed elegantly, was very aware of her appearance, and met her goal of living to 95. She was a hard worker with a strong work ethic. Mrs. Hanson was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.

Mary Elizabeth Little, 74, of Timpson, passed away Friday, March 8, 2019, in Timpson.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Garrison with Steven Jackson officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center, beginning at 12:00 noon.
Mrs. Little was born September 15, 1944, in Timpson, to Robert Little and Ruby Ford Little. She loved arts and crafts and spending time with her children. She was of the Christian faith.

Linda Gail Holley, 63, of Tenaha, passed away Friday, March 8, 2019, in Tenaha.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, March 10, 2019, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 11, 2019, at Watson & Sons Chapel with Sister Melba Rodgers and Bro. Edlon Hamilton officiating.
Ms. Holley was born December 4, 1955, in Channelview, to Exie D. Nettles and Dorothy Ella Ubnosky Nettles. She coached girl’s golf teams, during which time she lead several teams to State tournaments. Ms. Holley held the title “Ladies Club Champion” at Center Country Club.
She is survived by her husband, William T. “Willie” Holley Jr. of Tenaha; children, James Anthony “Tony” Wurz and wife Kathleen of Wylie, Roger Eldon Holley and wife Sharla of Tenaha, Amanda Marie Holley Cranford and husband Shane of Sunnyvale; grandchildren, Aidan Wurz, Dalton Holley, Delaney Holley, Jason Turner, Jax Turner, Kylie Cranford, Kolin Cranford; parents, Exie D. Larry Ray McDonald, 56, of Garrison, passed away on March 3, 2019 in Garrison, Texas. He was born on June 9, 1962 in Nacogdoches, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Garrison Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 5, 2019. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at First Assembly of God Church in Timpson, Texas with Bro. E.J. Adams officiating. Interment will follow at Cold Springs Cemetery, Garrison, Texas.
Larry was raised in Garrison, Texas. He worked many years in the trucking industry, and as a logger. Before his health failed Larry would enjoy the outdoors, hunting and fishing. Larry enjoyed spending time with his family. Drinking coffee every morning with his brother, Gayle and his mother, Barbara was a favorite for him. His pride and joy were his nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Larry was an active member and trustee of First Assembly of God Church in Timpson. He loved the Lord and enjoyed serving him.
He is survived by his mother, Barbara Fay McDonald; brother, Norman Gayle McDonald Jr.; sister, June Ann Barclay and husband Floyd; nieces, Cassie Puckett and husband Michael, Brittany Lee and husband Chris, Brooklynn McDonald and fiancé Marty; Kaitlyn Broadway; nephews, Kristopher Stockman, Austin McDonald and wife Kelcie, Trevor Broadway, Tristian McDonald; numerous great nieces and great nephews; and a host of family and friends that will miss him dearly.
Larry is preceded in death by his father, Norman Gayle McDonald Sr.; grandparents, Maude and Ollie Dee McDonald, Faylene Barbee, and Chester Chandler.

Royce G. Buckley Sr., 81, of Center, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2019, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Mr. Buckley was born in a log cabin November 17, 1937, in Huxley, to B.C. Buckley and Mattie Lee Armstreet Buckley. He was a member of Sam Houston Masonic Lodge #132, where he was a Master Mason. He was also a member of Boilermakers #374 and Martinsville Church of Christ.

Oscar Dominguez-Perez, 82, of Tenaha passed away on March 3, 2019. He was born on February 5, 1937 in San Vicente, Guerrero, Mexico to Antonio and Rosa Dominguez-Perez. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Magnum Funeral home in Center, Texas. Funeral services will occur on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery in Tenaha, Texas.
In his younger days, Oscar served as a police officer for 30 years and served as a judicial officer for seven. When his health started to decline, he made the decision to move to Tenaha and be close to his loved ones. Oscar lived a simple life, where he could be found most of his days outside or playing cards and dominoes. He enjoyed watching old black and white movies, but what he loved the most was spending time with his family. His charm and incredible sense of humor will remain alive in everyone. Oscar was a fighter and leaves a legacy that will never be forgotten.

Oscar vivio una vida simple y la mayoria del tiempo lo podrias encontrar afuera jugando baraja o dominos. Disfrutaba ver peliculas antiguas en blanco y negro, pero lo que mas le gustaba era pasar tiempo en familia.
Oscar deja atras un fuerte legado en cuanto a nunca darse por vencido a pesar de su salud, y siempre luchar hasta el final.
Se va extrañar su gran sentido del humor y su recuerdo vivira por siempre.
