Bro. Henry Hughes, 71, of Center, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2018, in Center.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 13, 2018, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. 

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 14, 2018, at Watson & Sons Chapel with Bro. Don Moore, Bro. Chris Collins and Bro. Keith Keele officiating.

Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center.

Bro. Hughes was born July 4, 1947, in Center, to Thomas Clinton Hughes and Ellie Irene Carter Hughes. He served as a crew chief for the Texas Highway Department and was a licensed minister for forty years. 

Bro. Hughes was a soul winner and his hobby was fishing. He was a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Center.

Celebration of Life service for Ronald George Post, 77, of Timpson, TX, will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, December 28, 2018, at Good Hope Baptist Church, Timpson, TX with Bro. Ronnie Sowell officiating. Mr. Post passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at his residence under the care of Heart to Heart Hospice in Timpson, TX after a sudden illness.

Born October 3, 1941, in Butler, PA, Ronald George Post was the son of the late William L. Post and Mona Jean (Watt) Post Burns. Ron was a proud member of the U.S. Navy (1959) and served in the Naval Reserve thru 1965. Ron began working overseas and lived in many foreign countries including South America and Europe, where he was a Safety Engineer among other supervisory roles and retired from ABB Lummus. Ron and his late wife, Lynda Kay Post, traveled the world together and enjoyed life at home together on "the farm". Ron enjoyed spending time with his friends on the “forum” and with his dog named Tootsie that his granddaughter, Kylie, gave to him. Ron shared many great memories of his world adventures, stories about his lifelong friends, Steve and Britt Williams and his travels with his beloved wife, Lynda Kay. “Poppy Posty” also assured his granddaughter, Whitley Williams during his last moments with us that he would be rocking his great granddaughter, Sophie in his arms when he arrived to heaven. Ron was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church in Timpson, TX.

Survivors include children: Clay (Valerie) Post, Jesse (Misty) Post, William "Bill" Post (and wife) who reside in Germany, Craig Post, Patrick Post, William Todd Pitman, Robin Cantrell (Doye) and Jill Serralde (Armando); Grandchildren: Alfred Layne Cantrell, Whitley Elizabeth Williams (Taylor Ray Williams), Jasmine Nicole Hardwick (Kannon Hardwick) , Kylie M. Edna Lentz, 95, formerly of New Ulm, MN, died Thursday, December 6, 2018 at The Arbor in Nacogdoches, Texas.

She was born on February 2, 1923 in Milford Township, Brown County, to Hans and Alma (Svensson) Larson.  She attended elementary school at District 14 in Brown County and graduated from New Ulm High School in 1939 and Mankato State Teachers College in 1943.

She married Wallace Lentz August 30, 1944.  They lived on East Medicine Lake for five years before moving to Milford Township where they farmed until retiring in 1982.  While living in Milford Township, Edna taught school in Districts 29, 50 and 181.

She was preceded in death by husband, Wallace; daughter Mary Lentz; granddaughter Deborah (Lentz) Zins; brothers Axel, Carl, Fritz and Alfred; and sisters Lenea, Lily, Alice and Della.

A memorial service to celebrate Edna’s life will be held at a later date.

On Sunday, November 25, 2018 Guy E. Pilgreen II passed away at MD Anderson Hospital after a long hard fought battle with cancer at the age of 54.

Guy was born on February 25, 1964 in Houston, Texas. As a teenager the family made the move to the small town of Tenaha where he attended Tenaha High School. He was a 1982 graduate of Tenaha High School, and supporter of the Tenaha Tigers who he still enjoyed attending games each year as they make their playoff run. He began his family here in Tenaha and eventually returned to his roots of the city living out his remaining years in the Houston area. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and always making them smile. He spent time enjoying and sheering on his favorite teams the Astros, Texans, and the Rockets and if he couldn't make it to the games you could find him hanging out with friends and watching at one of his favorite hangouts Sam's Boat in Seabrook. Guy was also an active member of the Houston Livestock Rodeo committee where he worked with ticket sale. He spent the last few years traveling as he worked as a sales rep for Guest Supply where he made many new friends in his coworkers as well as numerous clients. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Amber Nicole Pierce, 37, of Timpson, Texas, passed away November 25, 2018, in Timpson, Texas. Memorial service will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 1, 2018, at First Baptist Church, Timpson, with Bro. William Dee Daniel officiating.

Amber Nicole Pierce was born September 7, 1981 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was raised in Timpson, Texas and graduated from Timpson High School Class of 2000. Amber’s most treasured moments were spent with her children, Macy Bug and Destiny. They were the lights of her life. Amber also had a passion for makeup. She loved to do her own and found pleasure in beautifying others as well. People that knew Amber well would claim that “selfies were her thing.” Every chance she got, she would stop and snap a quick pic of herself and any friends or family that were with her to document the memory. She enjoyed keeping up with her friends on Facebook, but if she could, Amber preferred spending real time with friends and family. The laughter and love shared in those moments will be cherished forever. Amber was a member of First Baptist Church Timpson.

Walker (Dub) Coyle will be laid to rest at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 25, 2018, at Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, TX, at the age of 96. 

Visitation will be held prior to the service at Watson & Sons Funeral Home, Center, TX, beginning at 11:00 a.m. He died of natural causes at Holiday Nursing Home. He is met in heaven by his loving wife, Eva, and sons, Ben & Kelly, along with various family members. He had a wonderful life in which he loved his family, his garden, and working with heavy equipment. He was a WWII veteran, he served the United States while stationed in USA, China, and India. 
He was born in Billings, Oklahoma, to Ovadee Coyle and Matilda McAnhan Coyle, January 27, 1922. 

His remaining legacy is with:

Buddy was born February 21, 1955 and passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2018. He is preceded in death by his father Pat McGee, his sister June Cockrell, his father-in-law Eddie Binning and mother-in-law Vera Binning, and his step-son Jason Neal.

Talmadge Sharp passed away November 15, 2018 in Houston, Texas.

Our family circle has been broken; a link gone from our chain. Though we’re parted for a while, we know we’ll meet again. 

Mrs. Geneva Sharp’s husband of 68 years; and Talmadge Sharp, Jr, Cleophus Sharp, Sandra Sharp and Benita Sharp’s father, Mr. Talmadge Sharp peacefully departed this life November 15, 2018 in Houston, Texas.

Mr. Sharp’s family will receive visitors, Sunday, November 25th, 2018 from 4 to 6pm in the Rose Chapel of Mabrie Memorial Mortuary.

Barbara Ann Lindley, 76, of Grand Cane, Louisiana, passed away on November 19, 2018 in Shreveport. She was born on July 29,1942 in Orange, Texas to Travis Monroe Sample and Avis Snider Sample.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Mangum Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Billy Windham officiating. A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, November 23, 2018 at Mangum Funeral Home.

Barbara grew up in the New Harmony Community and graduated with the Shelbyville High School Class of 1960. She ran into a young gentleman in a diner in Center one day by the name of David K. Lindley. An immediate spark led to marriage in 1964 and the two remained faithfully by one another’s side until David’s passing in 2013. Barbara loved her country and was not ashamed of her patriotism. Two of her three sons served their country honorably and one retired from the Air Force. She also had numerous nephews who served in other branches such as the Army and Navy. Barbara loved to do arts and crafts. During her stay at the nursing home, she would make crosses, hearts and angels that the staff and residents alike would thoroughly enjoy. Her real passion was crocheting. Barbara would create some of the most beautiful projects with her crochet needles in hand. Anyone who knew Barbara would describe her as a “big talker.” She would strike up a conversation with everyone who met her and could spend hours sharing stories and laughter. She was an active member of New Harmony Baptist Church.

Patricia Ann Moore (62) of Center, Texas died Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Medical Center Emergency, Center, Texas. Mrs. Moore was born on September 8, 1956.

Funeral service will be Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at 1:00pm. Pastor, Brandon Owens will be the officiating. Visitation is Friday, November 23, 2018, from the hours of 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Hicks Chapel (804 Martin Luther King Drive.) Born July 23, 1988, in Nacogdoches, TX, Kaalob Levi Fleming was the son of the late Mickey and Sheila Fleming. He departed from this world on November 11, 2018. He was a 2006 graduate of Timpson High School and studied finance at Stephen F. Austin State University.

Survivors include his brothers: Jason (LeeAnn) Fleming of Longview, TX, Michael Stacy (Jennifer) Fleming (Corpus Christi, TX), sister Casie Spivey (Robbie), girlfriend Katie Worsham, Uncle Hilton Walker, nephews Tyler and Caleb Fleming, Jack Harris, Landon Green and nieces Madison Fleming, Holly Shrell, Heather Baker, Jaylan and Audrey Parsons and numerous friends he made along this journey.

Levi was preceded in death by parents Mickey and Sheila Fleming, sister Leigh Erica Harris, grandparents Hap and Mattie Fleming and Hilton and Buena Walker.

Levi was one of a kind. His smile could light up a room and his laugh was contagious. He had a love for many things in this life from spending time with his nieces and nephews to hanging out with friends and making new friends wherever he went. He loved to play softball and keep up with the latest episode of Game of Thrones. He was an avid Tom Brady fan and loved his Patriots. He held a special place in his heart for his two fur babies Baxter and Kipper. 

Services for Levi will be at Laird Funeral Home in Nacogdoches, TX. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 5-7 pm. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, November 16, 2018 at Laird Funeral Home. Graveside services to follow at Blair Cemetery in the Blair community, Timpson.

Pallbearers will be Mitch Bell, Blake Bell, Cole Milford, Rick Oliver, Timothy Bush, Kaleb Amos, Chris Oliver, and Glennard Tilley.
